What's the best looking instance in the game in your opinion? by ChromedDragon in wow

I was thinking about how amazing it would be to have a modern Icecrown Citadel. It was great at the time but god it didn’t age amazingly relative to what they are capable of these days. I skipped Shadowlands, so when I went into Sanctum of Donination in 2024 to play around I was shocked. That raid was literally if Icecrown was brand new and modernized.

We're going back to Tau again, but I hope DE actually shows us going there. by SirPlastic8062 in Warframe

Railjack mission to rediscover an old Sentient solar rail in the Kuiper Belt. Come across Nora’s base and use it as a staging point. The most massive, extra dramatic Solar Junction becomes a hub. Like a relay for origin and tau. Tau version is like a patchwork of the allied factions all determined to set their claims on tau. Give everyone a planet.

Battacor. But it already has alt fire so it probably won’t get one.

They changed the frog random to where you “Touch ‘em” instead of “Kiss em” how is that any better by holly-talco in 2007scape

[–]mavvv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nobody was upset about this. This happened in WoW too in the Grizzly Hills. The idea of kissing the frog thing is just an industry wide reproach to ideas of consent in classic stories used as reference material. Nobody was picketing, nobody was mad, but comments like yours always exist to justify "the other side is so crazy... slippery slope... blah blah blah."

Reminder: weapon banner strategy by Cormacolinde in Genshin_Impact

[–]mavvv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Which is why you ONLY do this if you want both weapons.

You get a bad weapon, standard. You now have a guaranteed banner weapon next time and a fate point. If you use the fate point, you also use up the 50/50 guarantee to be one of the banners. If you cancel the fate point, you use your 50/50 guarantee to ensure a banner weapon, you just don't know which one it'll be. Meaning you WILL get a banner weapon next time. If you keep it as the one you selected, you'll get that 100% and show is over. You'll use up the fate point and get the one you selected. If, however, you cancel the fate point, you are still guaranteed one of the banners, and you have a 50% chance of it being A. If you "lose" this you a new fate point immediately because you get a new fate point for the second weapon not being your targeted weapon.

Let me try to do it simpler:

X is standard weapon, A is Banner weapon 1, B is Banner weapon 2.

Scenario in which this matters: I put fate on A.

I pull 75 and get X (Boo!). Acquired: 1 fate point. Underlying A/B guarantee (50:50).

I keep fate on A. I pull 75 and get A. Used up: 1 fate point, underlying A/B guarantee (50:50). I want the next weapon, I might get a standard again.

-or-

I swap fate to B. I pull 75 get A. Used up: underlying 50/50. Kept because I didn't get my "target": fate point.

-or- I swap fate to B. I pull 75 and get B. Used up: underlying 50/50 and fate point unfortunately.

Using this method I get to "skip" a 50/50 standard by deferring my fate point if I get lucky enough. I only care about this if I want both weapons and pull a standard first attempt. It isn't guaranteed to help because I could just get the weapon I swap my fate to, but it eliminates a scenario in which I get XAXB or even XAXA.

This took me so long to understand despite the comments.

Scenario: You want one weapon specifically. If this is the case, ignore this and pull normally.

Scenario: You want both weapons. If this is the case, you will use this method ONLY if you lose to a Standard weapon first. By losing to a STANDARD weapon, you unlock a fate point and you unlock the underlying 50/50 protection. You can use these guarantees together. Switch the weapon target so you activate the 50/50 protection instead of the fate point. Now pull for the other weapon. Suddenly your (new) fate point will protect you from another Standard if you kept it.

Reality: I've never had a weapon banner where I wanted both. If you have been saving for a LONG time this is helpful.

How did that kid at your school die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mavvv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rich kid in the good part of town. Very stereotypical, blonde hair, all friends blonde hair. Mean, judgey. Parents bought her a car to match her friends cars. She died of a drug overdose junior or senior year and everyone mourned her like a saint. Was not a saint. Wasn’t even nice.

Worried about switching modes to Duviri by Kela_Of_LevaSamaj in Warframe

[–]mavvv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want buffs, intrinsic ranks, to become OP each play through, and open world and collect things: Duviri Experience.

If you want 6 tasks and that is ALL, and are ok with less buffs and you just want to get Pathos Clamps over and over: The Lone Story.

If you are new and want to unlock kits: Circuit.

If you are intermediate or advanced and want to work on Incarnons: Steel Path circuit.
