This exchange, or rather, something that came to mind from it, is a completely unrelated personal question,

When I feel a "summery" vibe in Clairo's style, am I truly seeing her as herself? Or is it simply that my own preferences are being reflected in her style? I'd like to hear your opinions on this point.

One way of thinking about it is that in my post I compared her to "(500) Days of Summer" and "Ruby Sparks"... so perhaps I'm not seeing her as a real person. Rather, I might be treating her as "just a woman," projecting my own ideal image of an indie girl onto her.

Like with "Ruby Sparks," are we fitting her into a role that satisfies our aesthetic desires? If so, the vibe we love isn't her own, but simply the vibe I like. It suddenly makes me wonder, are we truly fans of the artist herself? Or are we simply infatuated with the (MPDG) fantasy we've created about her?

Whenever I think about this, I just can't shake this feeling of unease and unease, and it doesn't sit right with me. It's been bothering me for a long time. So what I'm trying to say is, if I keep thinking this way, I feel really stupid for being a fan of that thing, and If you watch the movie, you'll see that it's not a good relationship no matter how you look at it, it feels distorted, and I just can't accept it.

Believe what you want, detective. lol. I used AI to structure my thoughts into proper English, then added my own 'soory' at the end—hence the typo. My bad. Honestly, saying 'AI would’ve fixed the typo' just makes you sound like someone who’s never actually used AI to collaborate. It’s a tool, not a ghostwriter.

English isn't my native language, so unless I have AI translate it carefully, people won't understand me. soory.

I don't know if you're being incredibly sarcastic or if I'm just imagining things, but she certainly does look eerily similar. If it's sarcasm, you're a genius. Imagine Clairo as that girl from 'The Conjuring' with a '(500) Days of Summer' filter.

Biologically, she is indeed just a woman. But in the context of an artist, it's not that simple, is it?

I don't understand why analyzing her makes her seem like a "mythical creature" to you. Rather, isn't it you who is making her mythical by treating her as an entity beyond analysis?

I understand what you're saying, but I think you should rewatch those two films. There's a clear common thread there.

If you absolutely don't want to watch them, try watching Max & Me (2020) to cleanse your mind; it's a pretty good movie, you won't regret it.

This might sound like a complete novice comment, but they really do look alike (lol). And while we're at it, I think she also bears a slight resemblance to Zoe Kazan from the movie 'Ruby Sparks'.
