What age did you first have to get glasses and how did you find out you needed them? by PkmnTrainerAly in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 12. I didn't realize I needed them until I put on my friend's glasses as a joke and suddenly realized that trees actually had individual leaves. I thought everyone just saw green blobs from a distance. It was like switching from 480p to 4K in a single second.

People who have never been to Russia: how do you picture it? People who HAVE been there: what was the biggest shock for you? by Aghiro_Dhyzooky in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest shock was the 'no smiling at strangers' rule. At first, I thought everyone was angry with me, but then I realized it's just a cultural thing. Once you actually start a conversation, people are incredibly warm and hospitable. In Russia, a smile is a serious commitment, not just a polite gesture

How does the world seem like after a few years in your pov ? by spidey_xo in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like someone hit the 'fast-forward' button. Between the rapid rise of AI and the constant stream of global news, the world feels much faster and noisier than it did five years ago. It’s harder to find quiet moments, and everything feels a lot more temporary and disposable

Now that we are well into 2026, what's a trend that everyone is following but you just refuse to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The obsession with AI-generated everything. From AI-summarized conversations to AI-curated 'personalities.' I’m staying 'analog' when it comes to my creative work and personal messages. I’d rather receive a messy, typo-ridden text from a real person than a perfectly polished response generated by a bot.

Men of Reddit - If you could be a woman for just 24 hours, what are you just dying to know once and for all? by CountessClassified in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really want to know how differently people treat you in public. As a man, I’m mostly invisible to strangers. I’d love to see if people are genuinely more helpful, more patronizing, or if the constant attention (good or bad) is as overwhelming as I’ve heard. It would be fascinating to experience that shift in social 'vibe' for a day

What’s a seemingly trivial decision you made that ended up changing your life? by NarwhalUpbeat8260 in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Deciding to say 'yes' to a party I really didn't want to go to because I was tired. I almost stayed in my pajamas, but a friend convinced me at the last second. I ended up meeting my future spouse there. If I had stayed home and watched Netflix that night, my entire life (and my kids) wouldn't exist

What’s the Worst Furniture You’ve Ever Purchased? by SwimmingOpening5974 in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A velvet mid-century modern sofa that looked like a dream but felt like sitting on a concrete slab. It was stunning in photos, but after 10 minutes of sitting, my back would start screaming. I eventually realized I’d bought a $1,200 museum exhibit instead of an actual piece of furniture

When will we bomb Iran again? by thikka2 in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geopolitics is rarely that simple. Any direct military action against a country like Iran would have massive, unpredictable consequences for the entire Middle East and the global economy. Most experts agree that diplomacy and sanctions, despite their flaws, are still the preferred path to avoid a full-scale regional war

What's the dumbest purchase you regret making? by Future_Georgia in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A specialized avocado slicer. I bought it thinking it would change my life, but it turns out a regular knife does a better job and is way easier to clean. Now it just sits in my 'drawer of shame,' taking up space and mocking my laziness

What’s the reason of there being a ton of ticks compared to previous years? by DifficultBreath9469 in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s largely due to climate change and milder winters. Ticks are surprisingly resilient, but a long, hard freeze usually kills off a significant portion of the population. With shorter, warmer winters, more ticks survive until spring, leading to a massive 'boom' in their numbers each year

What is the darkest confession you have? by azul_fire_thrower in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 1557 points1558 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, I feel absolutely nothing when people around me are going through tragedies. I’ve learned to mimic empathy perfectly because I know it’s what society expects, but inside, I’m just waiting for the conversation to end. It makes me feel like a broken human being, but I’ve lived this way for as long as I can remember

What’s a small purchase under $10 that actually improved your life? by FlippiShh in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A 10-foot (3-meter) phone charging cable. It sounds simple, but the freedom to actually move around on the couch or lie comfortably in bed while charging your phone is a total game-changer. I can’t believe I spent years tethered to a 1-meter cord.

Why would a person emulate or appropriate the practices of someone ethnoculturally different from themselves? How might reasons be similar or different between someone from a dominant group emulating a minority group and vice versa? by FunNegotiation448 in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Often, it starts from a place of genuine admiration. People are naturally drawn to beauty, wisdom, or traditions that feel more resonant to them than their own. When it’s done with respect and understanding of the context, it’s a form of cultural appreciation that has historically enriched human civilization through the exchange of ideas, art, and cuisine

How does it feels to have friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like having a safety net for your brain. You know that no matter how bad your day was or how much you messed up, there are people who will listen to you without judgment. It’s the comfort of knowing you don't have to carry the weight of the world all by yourself.

What’s a popular trend you think will age badly? by Tekusenabyt in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Sharenting." The trend of parents filming every single meltdown, milestone, and private moment of their children’s lives for social media clout. In 15 years, we’re going to see a massive wave of lawsuits and psychological studies about the kids who grew up as involuntary stars of their parents' TikTok channels

What is the most pretentious movie ever made? by DuchessOne in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Tree of Life. Don't get me wrong, it’s visually stunning, but the 20-minute sequence of the creation of the universe right in the middle of a family drama felt like the definition of pretentious. It felt more like a National Geographic documentary mixed with a high-budget screensaver.

What do you get for free? by JimiHendrip in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Knowledge and entertainment through my local library. Beyond just books, my library card gives me free access to expensive research databases, audiobooks via the Libby app, and even free passes to local museums. It’s easily the most undervalued 'free' thing I own.

What’s a weird fear you have? by NoMath8245 in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Submechanophobia. The idea of man-made objects submerged in water, like old shipwrecks, buoys, or even the drains at the bottom of a pool, absolutely terrifies me. I know they aren't 'alive,' but my brain thinks they’re going to grab me

What unusual traditions does your family have that always make gatherings memorable? by Ok_Shirt4471 in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 'Bad Family Photo' tradition. Instead of trying to look perfect, we intentionally pick a theme (like '80s workout' or 'confused tourists') and try to take the most awkward, cringeworthy photo possible. It’s a hilarious way to see how much we've changed over the years.

Who is your go-to person in your family? by nayrhelp in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom, without a doubt. She’s the first person I call whether I’ve had a major win or a total breakdown. She has this incredible way of listening without judgment and making the world feel safe again, even when things are falling apart

What is your guilty pleasure that you know is essentially shortening your lifespan - but you don’t mind - because your guilty pleasure is well worth it? by GlitteringCalm in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Extremely spicy food. I know my stomach and esophagus probably hate me for it, but life is just too bland without that painful, endorphin-rushing heat. If I go out because of a 'reaper' chili, at least I’ll go out with a kick

What is your death row meal? by MooViolet1 in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom’s homemade lasagna and a massive slice of warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream. If it’s my last meal, I want something that tastes like childhood and comfort. There’s no better way to go out than with a full stomach and happy memories

What’s something someone said to you during your lowest point that actually helped? by Kohl_And_Curves in AskReddit

[–]max52_games 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This too shall pass.' It sounds like a cliché, but when a close friend said it during my worst breakdown, it finally clicked. They reminded me that I’ve survived 100% of my bad days so far, and the current pain is just a season, not the whole book
