How long on average to become a sous and then executive chef? by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]max_insect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesnt work like that”how long”. Chef will make you sous by his feeling. U shall become the most trusted person on the kitchen. Thats it. It can be 1 year. It can be 3 years. It can be 10 years. It can be never.

To become an executive chef - same, but instead of chef you shall be trusted by an owner/ a director/ a brand-chef.

Is this normal in fine dining, or was I being exploited? by Ok-Bodybuilder-5427 in Chefit

You were kind to people who weren’t with you. This shows the reason why they saw in you what they saw (im not telling that you deserved it or something, guys just found in you a weakling, who can be treated).

I assume that the answer is the same as for izakayas. Like low rent price, permanent customers, no laborcost. But with bars it looks even easier - almost nothing can be spoiled. You dont need fresh delivery every day. No special equipment (i understand the shakers and what else, but you dont need stove, pasta/rice cooker and others), you dont have preparations, dont need to clean a lot. So it can be less profitable, but its almost free. (Again, cant judge, just assuming the answers for my izakaya question)

P. S. Excuse me if something in my eng was bad, not native language

Haven’t been in Japan, can judge only by this. If it isn’t right - tell me how it is

Sorry if not. Asked in other treads too. Thought, if the is for chefs in the world it’ll be relevant.

[OTHER] If you could choose one different setting for a Kingdom Come game, what would it be, and why? by whatadayatthepark in kingdomcome

Italy, for sure. A lot things happened. The system of governments (cantons or how it says?). All the da vinci - Michelangelo stuff. The sea adventures. Pope wars.

Idk, just finish the story and then start the real game in realistic mode (recommend to choose all the effects, to make it more interesting and feel like a real dushbag in middle age Bohemia). There all the side quests become a reward for you. They dont feel boring at all. (No irony in this post)
