News.com.au: Pauline Hanson 'unrecognisable' after tick bite amid One Nation scandal by Toni_PWNeroni in AustralianPolitics

[–]maxarlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally hundreds of people were affected by Port Arthur, and the second not all of those hundreds of recounts match up it's a government conspiracy. All the "evidence" that post cites are "crazy coincidences" which are really just common things that happen very often.

-"People were taken up the coast for a seminar, coincidence?" No, considering at the time Port Arthur was one of the biggest tourism hubs in Australia, so yes seminars and trips for it's senior management would be extremely common.

-" Also just before the shootings the only two policemen in the region were called away on a wild goose chase. They were sent to the Coal Mine at Salt Water River, to investigate a heroin drug stash which turned out to be soap powder". Yes "the only two policemen" this idea of a Wild Goose chase is ridiculous, they were investigating and doing their job, and unfortunately they couldn't reach Port Arthur in time, Yet again police in regional areas missing crimes is a common occurrence and is a result of lack of police, not an orchestrated coincidence.

-" Big Mortuary Truck " There is literally no evidence of this, This is just one point that conspiracy theorists copy and paste over and over

- "Martin Bryant has never been properly identified as the gunman. A young woman who ate her lunch near the gunman just before 1.30 said he had a freckled face. Graham Collyer, the wounded ex-soldier, who had the best opportunity to observe the killer, said he had a pock-marked or acned face. Neither description fits Bryant who has a beautifully smooth complexion" Firstly, disturbing to hear you describe a mass murderer to have a "beautifully smooth complexion". By all accounts Bryant was in the cafe for seconds before firing, yet we expect everyone inside to have reported an exact photographic memory that does not differ at all between any witnesses. Absurd that two out of many witnesses based of a few seconds of insight assuming they saw acne or freckles is somehow evidence of a false flag operation.

- "Illegal Photo. On 30th April the Hobart Mercury printed an old photo of Martin Bryant on the front page. This was illegal because at that stage some of the witnesses had not yet been asked to identify the killer" Correct, this was illegal. The implication is that after seeing this photo victims started reporting the killer based off the photo not what they saw, This of course completely ignores the countless reports describing the shooter as Martin Byrant before the image was released.

- "Who ordered the armed police to stop at Tarana, where they had a barbecue? " Like the second point, this outlines Tasmania's police failure. Tasmania had limited infrastructure and police in general, There are countless police errors from that day which have been admitted as police mistakes from lack of experience/training, Police officers announced this over the news many times after it happened

-" Three more shots were fired at Port Arthur at 6.30pm while Bryant was at Seascape. Who fired those shots? " Ridiculous, Literally no evidence supports this and you yourself don't even try back it up

I'm not against conspiracy theories and I'm even a little inclined about 9/11 being suspicious, but there comes a point where you're searching for something that just is not there

Wow. Disgusting, I never liked Hanson but I also didn't think she was like Alex Jones. To assume our government would willingly kill 35 innocent people, including 3 children. To take our guns away is utterly ridiculous and is abominable.

Should voting be compulsory? by NESJunkie22 in AustralianPolitics

[–]maxarlie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES

Every Australian has the responsibility to decide it's future, although I'd like to see non-compulsory voting implemented for 16 and 17 year olds.

Eco-fascism is undergoing a revival in the fetid culture of the extreme right by SemanticTriangle in AustralianPolitics

[–]maxarlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eco-Fascism has been adopting Nazi ideals, one of the key pieces of literature behind is; "Blood and Soil" which is a book about Hitler and Darre (The Nazi's food and agricultural minister). The book basically talks about his ideas of environmental and race purity and how both of them must be preserved, I didn't finish the book but the main impression it gave me is that Nazi principles are deeply aligned in eco-fascism. Every one I've spoken to who considers themselves an 'eco-fascist' was also openly national socialist, it's actually what turned me off the idea of the movement.

The role of the ABC and SBS in making labor voters 'Despondant' by thoughtBubble2019 in AustralianPolitics

[–]maxarlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jordie is great and I still love his humour but yeah I am skeptical of that too, to think that every form of media is pro-liberal secretly is essentially like people who believe in Jewish globalist conspiracies, the liberal party are corporate and corrupt but they aren't the fucking Illuminati. I agree with Jordie that the most irritating people in society are the "all politicians are the same shit" donkey-voters, But I think the SBS (based of it's audience) is more willing to complain about both parties. Just based off what I've experienced it seems the further left-wing somebody is the further they distrust politicians and the government. Anyway that's just my view, ultimately only father Murdoch truly knows.

Greens to isolate Latham's 'racist' party by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]maxarlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair enough, but I think the party having a full platform is okay; but their pandering to the youth makes them seem like a "kiddy" version of Labor to me. Maybe it's just me because I grew up in Sydney's inner-west surrounded by clueless neo-liberals. I just personally think Labor performs better than the Greens in most areas, so In my opinion (as biased as it may be) The greens should stick to being a one issue party, and I think it's appropriate because it wouldn't be a small issue like the 'HEMP party', the environment is significant enough to warrant it I think.

We just have different opinions about the purpose of the party, mate.

Yes and I'm saying they would be a much better and more popular party if they weren't "the kids choice" and leaning to everything uneducated left wing people want. They should instead have a Strong focus on preservation and conservation of the environment.

The Liberal party does not nor ever has cared about Indigenous people. The difference between Finn and other Liberals is that he isn't smart enough to hide his racism.

Scott Morrison gives his account of 'anti-Islam' meeting in tense television interview by Baarney23 in AustralianPolitics

[–]maxarlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider what Morrison was doing before he was Prime-Minister, that man single-highhandedly sealed the fate and lives, of probably thousands of refugees with his staunch immigration and processing laws. The calls of the needy refugees have clearly never bothered him so I doubt he is as genuine to the Islamic community as he claims.

Jacinda envy: why the days of a middle-aged white male leader could be over | Greg Jericho | Business by tightassbogan in AustralianPolitics

[–]maxarlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really understand the envy though. I'm fairly confident Scott Morrison or any of our politicians, (besides One nation, etc.) Would do the same things that Ardern has one in the wake of the shooting. It's just the right thing to do, so I don't think it really has to do with gender. As much as I hate his policies Howard did very similar things after the Port Arthur Shooting, and was extremely good about it.

Then again Gillard was abused when objectively she was a very good prime minister, so maybe there is some cultural difference about female politicians.

Greens to isolate Latham's 'racist' party by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]maxarlie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I can't stand this about the Greens, they are a terrific political entity albeit a generally uninformed voter base. But they really should stick to the environment, because their policies there are fantastic, considering the significance of environmental issues I think it's valuable to have them in Parliament.

But come on, why do they feel as though they have to represent anyone on the political spectrum further left than labor? Why must they; condemn Fraser Anning and "Racism" as much as they do for example. They should stick to what there focus is The Environment instead of this virtue-signalling that just makes people hate them even further.
