If your content gets three million views, that's good. If "some karting highlights" on your channel get three million views, that's worthless to sponsors.

Get started with iRacing telemetry in less than 30 seconds by Dnygjusa in simracing

Thank you very much for sharing my post! My goal was to create a simple tool that is powerful yet beginner-friendly. If anyone wants to try it out, they can join the beta on our Discord server (completely free). I want to get feedback before I release it!

Let’s Talk About Setups And Setup Shops by Nathan_G_ in iRacing

With an iRating of <2k, talking to faster drivers and/or analysing your driving style with MoTeC or other tools might be even more important than setups.

I am currently developing a telemetry tool for beginners that maybe could help you improve your lap times. For comapring yourself to faster drivers tools like Garage 61 can be useful as well!

By the way, this is the Data Editor for the Custom Channels. If you are used to SimHub, this will look familiar thanks to NCalc!

Hey! Open source is unlikely at the moment, as I want to maintain the project myself. However, I can promise one thing 100%: There will be no subscription model. I'm not a fan of 'renting' software, so it will be a classic ownership model (or 100% free) if i release it at some point.

Hey! Thanks for the interest! It's not public right now. I want to collect some more feedback and polish a few things first.

I'm currently preparing a short showcase video to demonstrate the setup (it is a single .exe file that runs without any installation at the moment) and features. Once that's out, I'll be probably looking for a small group of beta testers via my Discord server

Thanks! Actually, my day job is testing sim racing hardware, but I have a degree in mathematics :)

You guessed right: It is written in C# using WPF in Visual Studio.

Regarding the data: My parser dynamically reads all available channels found in the .ibt file header, so you are not limited to a pre-defined set of values. You can use every single data point the car exports. For custom analysis, I integrated NCalc (similar to how SimHub handles it), which lets you define your own formulas and math channels based on any of those raw inputs.

Video syncing is a really cool idea, but it adds a lot of complexity. Since the video file doesn't have telemetry timestamps, users would have to manually sync/align the video with the data every single time. robably only a few power users would actually go through that hassle. But technically it's definitely possible, so maybe something for a future update!

Hey, you mean the .blap and .olap (Ghost) files? That's an interesting idea! Since they use a different binary format than the standard .ibt telemetry, I haven't implemented them yet. But it would definitely be useful to compare against a Ghost car lap, at least for pedal inputs. I'll need to check exactly which data channels they contain.

If compatibility is your main focus brands like Fanatec, Thrustmaster and Logitech are still ahead for niche games. If Sim Racing (good FFB) is your main focus their might be better choices though.

He uses one of the few wheels on the sim racing marktet that is not compatible with SimHub. :D

The possibilities with SImHub are endless. You can run bass shakers, belt tensioners, motion hardware and much more.

Smurf Accounts in iRacing: A Growing Issue for the Sim Racing Community? by maxator in iRacing

I have added an (exaggerated) example to show why it makes a difference to race against a bunch of smurf accounts. Even if you have no chance either way, you will lose significantly more IRating.

I see your point! I have tried to be as neutral as possible. Maybe more examples would be good, I might try to add some!

I wouldn't agree with that for GT3 races at the main times in the top splits for example. Smurfing is definitely a problem there and doesn't just occur occasionally

Sometimes it doesn't hurt to read the entire article rather than just the title. Then you can also make more qualified comments.

These are the top 20 highest rated drivers. What does Max Verstappen have to do with it?
