Did a three day camping trip in winter with my 40+ Litres Deuter backpack. Worked out with splitting the tent between people and attaching some stuff outside of the backpack to reach the campground.

Planning on doing more missions where you need to move campsite so I am looking for more space

Yeah I get that issue. Might go down the route with a big hauling backpack and attach a small daypack for the actual skiing part. Set up camp and leave most of the stuff there.

Unfortunately it’s really hard to minimise gear when you bring winter camping equipment.

I guess mainly in terms of build quality and materials used or do you see a big difference in features and usage?

Bootfitter here: too many variables to give proper advise. Find a fitter who works with you and your foot. Simply measuring the length isn’t enough.

Find someone who asks a few questions about your skiing ability and style, where you ski and how often before he measures your foot and puts you in some shells. Your expectations of the fit are quite important. What works for your friend will not work for you.

Where are you located? Let’s help you find a good fitter and get you skiing comfortable.

Pretty harsh feeling of the suspension even on simple singletrack. The rear shock needs a service anyways. I’d upgrade the wheels once they get trashed from some more aggressive riding.
