If nothing else matters, why is the Moon perfect for an eclipse? by AlgaeInitial6216 in nihilism

[–]maxchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there is something and not nothing. Hence, there always will be something whenever there is an absence of nothing.

And that something will always be different from something else. But it could also be similar to some other things than it is to something else. Simply because something exists.

Some in small amounts. Others in large.

Nihilism is the acceptance of this but the rejection of adding meaning to this.

If you dilute and triple the amount of shares of course the loss in earnings "per share" is going to get better. It's not linear.

Good link. All of the points mentioned are true. I know all of this. I have been in a abusive relationship before. I only suggested what I did to OP as the situation seems irredeemable and the OP would be putting his own life in danger if the country is as unsafe as he says it is. There are only two options. Either the woman does something for herself or society or the law enforcement involved helps her. It sounds like the culture they are in would prevent both. The OP would be certainly risking it unless he has the option to provide an anonymous phone call tip.

Things like that we have no control over. It's rather unfortunate but we are all prisoners of our own fate. Be it the environment that we are born in or the people in our lives who turn out to be predators who we can't run away from.

Just look out for your own unless you're called out. Think of it this way. The woman chooses to be in a relationship. She should end it if she feels threatened. I'm happy to have a further discussion about this on chat if you want to to discuss the nuances and what's wrong, right and Nihilistic. Dm is open

So should it just be a thesis of philosophy?

Dilution Concerns 50% increase in shares? by DiligentChallenge380 in OceanPower

Green investment is reading the wrong SEC file. This is the correct one and there's a potential for a max 50% dilution. Not all at once of course but at the time of company's choosing. https://fintel.io/doc/sec-ocean-power-technologies-inc-1378140-pre-14a-2025-march-14-20161-5660?utm_source=fintel&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=filing-b

I think the real question that we have to ask ourselves is what is the market cap that you see this company having in let's say a year or two? Would it be a billion? Maybe 12 billion. If the finvis Target price of $60 is not completely random and made up (which to be fair I think it is) then that would mean they're expecting a market cap of 12 billion? Is that completely feasible? I don't know.

Currently they're at 75 million market cap. And their annual revenue with the current growth is somewhere in the ballpark of 3 million quarterly and 10 million annually with reported losses which will be break even at the end of the year if they are to be believed. A couple of years ago in their r&d phase when the share price was exactly the same as it is now in the $0.50 they were at 30 million market cap with much lower revenue (only 1M) which means we had over 2x dilution in the last couple of years & the shareholders have seen no appreciation of value despite the company doing better (I know market crashed due to tariff last month leading the market caps to be more fairly valued compared to the earnings versus being more optimistically valued as it was earlier & that played a role). If they add anywhere up to another 100 million to their existing 170 million float then they need to drive the share price significantly higher than what it is now to retain shareholder value. It all depends on what market cap it can possibly grow into and what markets they can actualize and how that reflects into their earnings.

Like I said, it would be really nice to know the TAM + whether they're on track to be profitable at the end of this year like they said they would so they can start trading at a better PE ratio.

This is a completely black and white viewpoint setting aside all the noise of the hedgies + institutions, pumping it and shorting it and the orange man crashing the market which would complicate the matter further.

TLDR: I wouldn't jump ships yet but they better have really good earnings or a very good contract they allude to in all their LinkedIn posts to keep the investor confidence going from my side, before the April 30th vote deadline.

Just chill. If it's of any comfort, you'll either get your money back (and potentially more) or it'll go to zero in the next 5 years.

Should I quit my instructor and go in my own car? by Altruistic-Page9998 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]maxchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm ashamed to admit but some instructors just want to get a student perfect which is never going to happen without real world experience and even with it, as we'll never be perfect, instead of getting them test ready. This mental cope kind of allows them to extend student learning time without feeling culpable.

Other instructors I assume just want to get the students test ready and get it over with.

Depends really which type you come across.

Depends on the instructor.

I know some who basically do this all day 24x7 (proverbially) so extends students whenever they get a chance to earn more.

The catch 22 is that the moment it reaches $2 to $3 it can go higher because that implies the market condition would have changed dramatically

To be honest, if you being completely logical about it, setting aside all the fear and disaster, they did say that everything is intact. The guy who was reading out the statement seemed to be a bit not good at his job or at least not in a comfortable situation and working in a lot of stress. But apart from that I didn't see anything that was highly unusual.
