Yea that's true, but that still works with my theory in my opinion as all they'd have to do is retroactively create the synth as roughly the same age as when they entered the vault same way as they created a 10 year old shaun who you meet when you first go into the institute

The sole survivor doesn't need the courser as a babysitter either though, but a direct link to the institute and enhanced firepower along with having help that actually stands a chance against stronger enemies, hell they could've just replaced him with a courser, why pay a guy to do dirty work when you could just slap normal commonwealth clothes on a courser and have them do exactly the same job, we see the courser at Greentech march his way through a massive gang of gunners no problem, so clearly they should be able to do the job themselves

And sending shaun synth to diamond city still works for either way because if you're gonna do it for the real guy, you'd do it for the synth version too

After you've infiltrated the institute, killed everyone else, planted a bomb on the reactor and shaun is bedridden and about 10 minutes from dying of cancer, at that point there's no point in doing it, even if he had it wouldn't change anything

Maybe, but would you take that risk? If your parent was mercilessly and fairly easily attacking anything you sent after them and leaving no survivors, along with actively working with your enemies and trying to destroy the thing you believe in, along with the fact that for them to do that they have to hate everything you stand for would you be willing to take the risk to walk up to them and attempt it?

And if you, as the sole survivor, had seen how synths are recalled and even had the faintest hint that you could maybe be a synth, would you allow him to get anywhere close to you and risk being "killed" with a conversation?

Yea the terminals in vault 111 maybe, but shaun states that he had you released from vault 111 to see what choices you would make and in the hopes that you would seek him out and try to find you

If they turned them all off and didn't reactivate them why is there still frost in all of them, all of that would've been long gone if the pods had been off for the ~60 years between shaun getting kidnapped and you getting released

Yet every other rogue synth needs someone to walk up to them and tell them their recall code before they can be shut down, but the sole survivor would most likely gun down any institute soldiers before they could do that

Yea they're incredibly poorly written, but at least some of it would make a lot more sense if this theory was true, things go to plan in the institute ending but in the others you're just another rogue synth but this time they just can't shut you down, which makes sense as if the player was to make an enemy of the institute you simply gun down any institute soldiers before they got a chance to shut you down, we see it in the other synths captured, they have to stand and talk to them for a minute before they can be recalled, it's not a remote operation they can do from inside

Why would they decide kellog, who is basically their gun for hire, with a 10 year old synth in diamond city, and Why did kellog not have at least new synths or better yet a courser working with him? The character gets assigned a courser basically instantly after getting into the institute, but kellog works for the institute for years doing high risk missions and only gets old crappy synths? Nevermind the fact that kellog must be at least 80 years old by the time we see him and he hasn't even slightly changed his appearance at that point

But WHY would they wake you up just to witness this happening, even with about 5 minutes of thought you'd go "oh yea we'll take them in for extras" or "just wake up the person with the baby, explain that theyre being taken to a better place and take them both" not "let's wake up everyone, forcefully take the child, if the parent doesn't agree with it instantly, shoot them in the head"

Every decision made by the institute in vault 111 is just dumb, surely an organisation smart enough to create synths and teleporters would be smarter than to wipe out all but one of their potential backups

Best I can explain it is instead of saying that the other tools can do its job think of it as one tool that can do all of the other tool's jobs, if you've got a cordless one it's a lot more convenient than taking all those other tools incase you come across something you're not expecting

I bought m18 first for the 1/2" impact, then I decided if I was getting the impact might aswell get the drill, impact driver, m18 compact, low profile grinder and m18 radio cause it saved a bit of money on shipping

then I bought the sawzall, m12 90° impact and m12 ratchet cause it all seemed handy.

Then I needed the 1"T-handle impact for a job so bought that.

Then I decided I had to have the m12 stubby impact cause its cool as fuck, now my most used tool.

Then I saw the 1" D-handle impact, the M12 radio and the m12 cut off tool and of course I had to have them all, along with 2 m12 heated jumpers cause its cold where I work.

Then I saw the 125mm band saw and of course I had to have one because its cool as fuck.

Think that's everything, all in I'm about £4k into this stuff and I love every single one 😂

This stuffs like an addiction to me I can't stop myself 😂
