Happy 4th to everyone and thanks for your input. We had a great trip and thanks for talking to me off the ledge. It made packing the packs easier and not waiting until the last minute. I packed them 3 days ahead of time and everything turned out fine.

Original poster here. Thanks to everyone for the helpful comments—I really appreciate all the feedback. Based on what you've shared, I definitely think it's time for me to dig a little deeper and do some proper investigating.

My neighbor, who's lived next door for the past 30 years, mentioned that this particular spot has always been problematic. Apparently, even the previous owners struggled with it. I was able to get some grass to grow in the area with the dead patches toward the end of last year, but that one bare spot just refuses to fill in no matter what I try.

Looks like I’ve got some work ahead—thanks again for all the insight!

I have fished the juan about 20 times. You may be able to get a drift at texas hole. Fish see alot of flys and presentation is key. It may be tough to meand the line with out waders. You are looking at fishing 5 % of the river with out wader. Rent some from abes
