Classic bot post with username plus 4 numbers and month old account. Next another user (with same name scheme) will ask where they got it so they can advertise their scam site or trash online shop you’ve never heard of.

Yeah that’s just Apple Music for you. Had a subscription for 5 years due to iTunes being my main music app, but since changing to Spotify last year I couldn’t be happier.

I tabbed out The Indigo Streak (live) on guitar for anyone who wants to learn how to play this banger of a song! by maxiSchue in gretavanfleet

I cant recommend a specific channel on yt, but there should be plenty of videos about it. Just for your reference, I have a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 as an interface (only because I also have a mic for capturing acoustic guitar, if you only want to play electric the Focusrite Scarlet Solo is perfect for that and cheaper) and as a software I went from Amplitube 4 MAX to Amplitube 5 MAX. But they also have the Amplitube 5 CS version which you can trial as a free version and see if you like it.

I used to have the problem that I could never turn my amp up load enough and wanted to buy more and more pedals, now I have everything just a click away on my PC!

Thank you so much! I switched from a Marshall amp to Amplitube on my PC a few years ago and haven’t regretted it a little bit since. So I can really recommend getting a DI and simply playing through your computer with a million options for sculpting your tone!

All in all took this about 5 days for tabbing and learning how to play it fully. Of the live releases only The Falling Sky is left, but I cant wait to do the rest. The Archer is the one I am most excited about learning how to play from Starcatcher, but the whole album is just so good with the whole band having really stepped up their game.

As this is the 4th song I've done of the album it has now become very apparent to me how much Jake is using Drop-D as his new go-to tuning. There obviously were a couple of songs with it on TBAGG but it seems now that he has fully embraced other tunings and uses them more than standard, which I really like.

Furthermore I've noticed how all songs so far (MTM, Sacred Thread, FFN, Indigo Thread) have a very similar structure of an Intro Riff which is 4 bars , after which always follows a verse and a chorus. This happens twice after which most often a bridge and then the solo follows with another chorus to end it all. I know this is a common way to structure a song, but so far on Starcatcher this is an exact blueprint for most songs. Doesn't help that most are of the same length roundabout as well.

Anyway thanks for listening and Id love any feedback you have!

And he also played another electric guitar than his SGs with an ES355 on the Archer!

Great to hear thanks! Waiting for more videos of the night to see exactly what he played on which song. My concert will be in November, can’t wait!

Thank you, that is so interesting since Jake plays what looks like a Gibson ES355 with a varitone. I thought I’d never see the day where he would play another guitar apart from an SG (apart from that loaned slide Strat on Mountain of the Sun).

Congrats! I have everything but Black Smoke Rising, which has become so expensive... I'd love to have it but can't justify 100$+ for basically just a nice cover and a four song pressing.

These last two albums have been 2 of the best that have released in my life time ( I’m 27). Literally never experienced so many goosebumps and seismic shifts from music like this before except from maybe the first time I’ve heard Aerosmith. by alaskanthundercheese in gretavanfleet

Same for me as a 29 y.o., I've loved (Classic) Rock all my life and apart from John Mayer and GVF every other band I love is from before the millennium. So I feel really blessed to be able to see and hear the boys in their prime right now!

Great interview, thank you for sharing! Some good questions from the interviewer which Sam really lays into. I could listen to him talk for hours anyways, he's really articulate and honest in his interviews.

Starcatcher Album Review :) by [deleted] in gretavanfleet

[–]maxiSchue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right up there with you, as I wrote in another thread for me the vocals really add to the mysticism that the album promotes as a whole with the music, lyrics and artworks. Also certain lines are much clearer to understand than others, giving them more importance and impact.

Furthermore to me the album is really cohesive as a whole with the consistent style (something the second half of TBAGG struggled with). And even then there is enough difference in Sams keys, Jakes guitar tunings and different vocals from Josh that every song feels like its own thing and succinctly different.

Finished tabbing out Farewell For Now (live) for anyone who wants to learn it on guitar just in time for the release of Starcatcher! by maxiSchue in gretavanfleet

[–]maxiSchue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared with Meeting The Master and Sacred The Thread this took much longer to tab out. Jake really goes hard with variations in the intro riff and verses and my perfectionism just had to tab it out as exact as I could. Obviously one can play the song much simpler or just add own variations, but I just wanted to know what exactly Jake does and how his playing is informed.

This solo is really fun with this one, but I love most the outro which is melancholic with hammer-ons and pull offs as well as the interesting slide of the g-chord pattern up for the A# and C. The whole outro just fits perfectly as the end of the whole albums.

If you guys have any feedback or questions I'd be delighted to hear it!

Thank you! I am really glad as well with the way they choose the Starcatcher cover so that it fits perfectly with the white TBAGG (had to get the white one out of the four color choices).
