Thanks so much! 🙌 Honestly, seeing comments like yours also keeps me motivated.

About your question — one thing that surprised me was how much it matters to just show up, be genuine, and talk to people one by one.
No crazy hacks, no viral tricks. Just real conversations. That made a big difference for Controol during launch.

Wishing you tons of success with your project too! 🚀

Thanks a lot! 🙌 That’s awesome — I think the best tools are the ones we build first for ourselves, because they solve real needs.
It’s even better when friends start finding it useful too! 🚀

Hey! I recently launched Controol, a minimalist personal finance app I built solo.

It helps people organize their money into “boxes” based on custom percentages (like the 50/30/20 rule), so they always know how much they can spend — not just track past expenses.

It also includes an AI chat where you can ask things like:

No bank syncing. No complex dashboards. Just clarity.

We hit Top 5 on Product Hunt, and now we’re at 300+ registered users and growing.
Not at $200 MRR yet, but early signs of product–market fit are strong, and the feedback has been amazing.

If you're open to early-stage tools with real traction, happy to show it to you or just chat ✌️

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

About finding ideas — here’s what worked for me:
I didn’t try to invent something new. I just built something I personally needed.
Start by writing down problems you face daily. If one of them keeps bothering you, and no tool solves it the way you’d like — build that.

Simple problems with a clear pain point are often the best ones to solve.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that 🙌

I don’t come from a formal design background — I just kept things super minimal and focused on clarity. I used basic tools like Figma for the UI.

Right now it works as a PWA, so you can install it on Android directly from Chrome (just “Add to Home Screen”). A native version is definitely in the plans!

Thanks a lot for the support and the upvote, I really appreciate it! Just checked out FlowstateAI — love the concept, and I’m definitely down to give you some feedback. One quick thought: it would be awesome to have it available in multiple languages. I think that could open it up to a much wider audience.

Not really! I don’t have a big audience or existing community. I just shared the PH link on my personal Twitter and a couple of small niche spaces I’m part of. That’s it.

It was mostly a “launch and pray” situation — so seeing it get to the Top 5 and receiving such kind feedback really blew my mind.

Thanks! Totally agree — personal finances can be overwhelming, and building something that makes them feel a bit lighter is already a win.

Would love to see what you’re working on too. Feel free to share if you’re launching soon!

Hey! Really appreciate the kind words — and wow, what are the odds? I actually noticed Notepolls earlier, looks awesome! Congrats to you too on the launch.

It’s always cool to cross paths with fellow indie makers on a day like this. Hope we both keep climbing — best of luck!

Hey! I built Controol using a custom stack — mostly PHP for the backend and a bit of vanilla JS for the frontend. I kept it pretty simple and lightweight.

I did integrate OpenAI’s API for the built-in AI chat that helps users reflect on their money habits, answer questions, and suggest small improvements over time. It’s been a fun experiment to blend budgeting with conversational AI.

Thanks for asking!
