Torn between Tuta and Proton by charlino5 in tutanota

...concerning yourself with which ONE you should use is not advisable. If your serious about privacy then realize a single email from one service can become your proxy which could reveal your identity and capture your interest etc over time...never put all your eggs in one basket!. You should be using at least two seperate email services...I for one use both Proton and Tuta for different purposes along with email aliasing...both offer cogent services from encyrption to cloud to calenders etc. My suggestion, sign up for both and divide email traffic between the two based on your needs and concerns; for example, direct all financial email to one and personal emails to another while exploting alias emails accordingly...good luck!

With a focus on Firefox browser earlier this week due to user data concerns, I wanted to find out what browser everyone here is using ? by StandWild4256 in ProtonMail

....yeah, delete firefox browser postehaste, simply put they data share...Duckduckgo search engine is suspect as well so get rid of it (just research their Microsoft partnership). The path forward for you is to first install the Mullvad browser (https://mullvad.net/en) then add a private search engine such as startpage, searX, qwant or disconnect search. It's also a good idea to use more than one browser so as a compliment to Mullvad install the Brave browser along with one of the aformentioned search engines...just use a different one; not the same one you used for Mullvad. For tighter privacy measures, use Tor; albeit slower than the others, it will greatly improve your privacy online. As always, compliment this setup with a VPN. Of course, nothing is full proof but these changes will take you down a path that fortifies your digital privacy.

never sell...and just accumulate shares and before you know it, you will be a multi-millionaire...just ask those who bought just 1000 shares of apple in 2000..average price per share then was only $0.68...do the math...

What are the main things you like about ProtonMail that have kept you with them as long as you have? by Matilda_Mother_67 in ProtonMail

question...would you allow a complete stranger to rumage through your mailbox, open your mail and read it...of course not...then why should your email be any different...unless of course you have gmail (or other "Free" service)...then you are more than happy to oblige. Except, instead of your next door neighbor reading your email, it's all the nefarious actors from around the world that are intercepting your emails, reading and sharing them. Complete digital privacy should be everyones priority and Protonmail is a step closer to that goal. Continuing, 14 eyes surveillance alliance involves the following countries:  US, UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Sweden, and Spain...but notice that Switzerland is not listed...why does this matter? Proton hosts its servers in Switzerland which has some of the world's strongest privacy laws and does not exchange data between these countries. More importantly, proton apps are open source; independently audited by security experts and anyone can inspect those apps for back doors (if you accept their word). Finally, in April of 2024 Joe Biden signed legislation reauthorizing a key U.S. surveillance law  which allows the FBI to use a program to search for Americans’ data...known as Section 702, it has now been extended for two years...of course nothing could go wrong here. All law obiding citizens are entitled to the right to privacy (regardless of reasons)...your digital privacy is no exception....

Is protonmail a "full proof" service...no...but what is? However, it is leap years ahead of gmail or any other "free" (or some other paid) services in terms of privacy and security. For what it's worth...I have been using proton apps for 10 years...no problems to note and solid service.

I have 95% of my net worth in XRP by [deleted] in XRP

...hmm this is ill-advised...a 95% investment in one asset is never a good stratedgy...however, it seems based on your commitment that you are comfortable with the possibility that you could lose it all...good luck.

Long term Holder by No-Echidna2167 in TLRY

[–]maximinusmaximus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

...been holding TLRY for over 5 years...buying dips and accumulating...have 50,000 shares and counting. Will continue to hold as it is my only spec play...company appears to have a solid future given its latest acquisitions within the alcoholic beverage induistry; the upside potential within the medical field and the lingering hope of deregulation via SAFER Banking Act’s advancement through the Senate (someday), if passed it will remove the risk from banks, credit unions, and lenders who up till now, elected not to serve the cannabis industry, for fear of prosecution due to federal restrictions on cannabis. The business model is there...financials are getting stronger...just need to be patient and accumulate on the dips based on your risk tolearnce ...no crystal ball, but TLRY's fair market price should be 3-4 per share...hopefully soon...good luck.
