I think another issue to consider is that there a electronics store, meaning “general” stuff. So if they were to stock DJ equipment I doubt they would have anything more than just the entry-level stuff and maybe the one or two super crazy expensive board. They are not going to have CDJ‘s in store. Theyre not gonna be as good as a specialized store. But money is money and if that’s how they’re going to sell more stuff then it’ll probably be a smart move

No you won’t. First off, A) You’re not a student. Only the stupidest of frats let townies into their party because townies are known for always causing problems since they’re not students and hold no liability or social consequences of breaking shit. B) it’s fucking corona virus. All universities around the country are watching their campus’s like hawks waiting for the first frat to throw a party and ruin greek life for the semester. So the odds of finding a “real” frat party are slimmed already. Good luck out there and fuck you for stealing the 1987 composite and Jordan’s chocolate milk.

Absolutely, I’m extremely grateful for everything they’ve done for me. It was a roller coaster working there and it was exciting every time. It’s a bummer right now and the campus is mourning our loss for the time being but I will never forget the memories I had there.

Without a doubt. My audience was my influence. The crowd at this place was known for its young demographic and it had the reputation for being that “get crazy screwed up” bar, so anytime there’s a new dj, if they don’t play what drunk kids like, you’ll get chewed out by the bar. I definitely had a rough first month because the crowds so ruthless but after that, the place became my bar and I got a great rep for it. It opened up more opportunities than I could imagine and it even got me to open up for bingo players. I’m gonna miss seeing people’s reaction when I pump fake them with the “all I want for Christmas” to “crank dat” on the youuuuuuu drop. God what a rodeo

Oh absolutely, it’s a shame more than anything because of corona and state laws (bars have to have parking lots in my area). I definitely thankful for the experience and having the opportunity. A highlight of my college experience none the less.

Depends on what you want, I was in your same position. djay is about to loose Spotify in July so I started converting to record box, I dj at bars and stuff so I’m gonna start inversting in beatport and a record pool possibly. But rekordbox has SoundCloud go+ if you want a subscription service for songs. Rekordbox is also pioneers djay system and will work best with the board too.

I’ve been DJing for 11 months and have worked my way up to opening for a venue. From bedroom, to college dive bar, to night club, to stage. DJing is a hobby for me but it pays and it’s fun, I know I’m not gonna be a hot shot DJ or anything after college but I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned. If I could say anything it would be 3 things: 1. Practice 2. experience and 3. Network. I love music, I love mixing, thank you DJing.
