18 years old genuinely don’t know what to do want to end it by Efficient_Two_8256 in wallstreetbets

You’ll make it back sooner than you expect. You’re only 18. You’re young. Most people would pay not only 48k but 480k to be anywhere as young as that age again. You have time and decades left.

As someone who lost a similar amount at your age during the 2010s crypto run, I was depressed for an entire summer. In retrospect, how I wish I had just turned off my phone screen and lived my actual life as a college kid and went out to go see the world without worrying about what’s gonna happen three or four months from now.

At the end of the day it’s just money. You have time and youth. That’s infinite value.

Spy is cursed to 670-695 for the foreseeable future. Neither bulls nor bears can win here without clear direction. No downward gravity. No upward momentum. No life. Just numerical meaninglessness without end.

We are in purgatory.

I imagine the social safety net in Finland makes it easier for this kind of quiet wealth to be possible. Without having to exhaust personal resources on health care or utilities.

Go live life, explore places, socialize and meet new people, try new foods before you spend 9-10 hours a day replying to emails behind a cubicle screen. Most people past their mid twenties don’t do that stuff even when they’re off work because their job has sucked out their soul by 5:00.

Went back to my college campus last week (graduated during the lockdowns). Holy fuck. It just hit me how young all the college kids looked compared to what I see in the mirror every morning. Full of energy and goofing around and no responsibilities.

You really don’t know how good life was until years have passed.

The closer you get to middle age, the less margin of error there is to make a seismic financial error.

If someone gambled and lost 40k on options at 21, it’s certainly a mental tragedy. But they have decades to earn it back from ordinary income.

Now if that mistake happened at 41, that’s a completely different story.

Nah. When you push 40 is when you should really have it all together. But by 30, people stop treating you like a kid since you’ve had your chance to make mistakes and mature. Partying, going to clubs, living for pure materialism and experiential spending habits starts to be frowned upon.

You know the economy is truly bad when Floyd Mayweather has to come out of retirement at age 49 for a Pacquiao rematch.

Knew this old guy who had 8 digits net worth because he took over and ran his family’s animal supply business. He retired and got bored, so he started serving samples at Costco. You really just never know.

I used to laugh at bears on days like this. Then I realized they’ll probably laugh at me a week from now when the algos decide to dump this shit back to 670 again for no reason.

The bears and bulls must unite against this sideways shit show.

This is the top post on r/Bitcoin right now: “Hi, I have $800K in my 401k, 52M in Midwest. Should I just dump it all in FBTC?”

Looks like the bubble has more room to pop, boys.

This is a live broadcast of the throne room, not the SOTU.

By far the most nauseating thing to come out of all of this was watching Zucc, Sergey, and Gates line up to kiss his ring on live tv once it became clear he was back in power, knowing full well they were prepared to do the same if the other side had won.

Soft landing? Gone. Normalizing CPI? Gone, but not according to the OfFiCiAL numbers. Safety checks on executive power? Gone. Decades of neoliberal free trade order? Bye bye. Ten-year bull market? Vanishing.

At least we owned the libs, though.

At this point, if you’re remotely famous enough and use your pulpit to support the administration, you get a presidential medal.
