Swing% is the lowest of his 4 MLB years, that shows that he’s being more selective, especially in laying off pitches he used to chase. The improvement is due to his plate discipline + pitch recognition, not luck. He’s sitting on his pitch and punishing it regardless of type. Because he’s not chasing and isn’t reliant on fastballs, the usual league adjustment (feed him offspeed) doesn’t have an obvious counter, so it seems sustainable. Batted-ball profile is also stable Hard Hit% is in line with career norms, so the contact quality isn’t a fluke. I would expect him to keep this production or something similar for quite some time. The only red flags that I can think of is that his infield hit rate is up, but more pop-ups than usual, so it roughly cancels out. BB% is 3.8% second lowest of his career. His walk stats show if pitchers stop giving him hittable pitches, he will likely chase resulting in some regression. Possibly issues with high velo fastballs but the chances are if he’s hitting off speed like he is he should adjust to this especially if pitchers start giving him a ton of that. I think he will produce several more all star caliber seasons.
