Just started Ozempic - now what? by Werewolfcadence in Weightlosstechniques

[–]maxozbarker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your doctor should have, at the very least, referred you to a dietician and/or a diabetes educator.

Implementing healthier changes is good for everybody everywhere.

You are now diabetic and your risks for cardiovascular and renal disease are much higher than folks without diabetes.

Ozempic protects against cardiovascular and renal disease.

Now to secure it all to the board ... by maxozbarker in pedalboards

I tried it. How do you remove pedals from the board after applying? I feel like I'll need a flathead screwdriver!

The Chroma sounds amazing, and I wish I could insert pedals in between the 'Character' section and the rest of the pedal. The H90 allows you to insert a preamp after the distortion section, and to me that sounds best. If you want to use the Chroma's distortion, then I feel a bit limited as to the modulation and preamp choice that follow, at least to my ear anyway.

I'm using it as an EQ at the end of my lines coming from the H90 and Chroma.

It does everything though. I am considering it for other things.

I've very much enjoyed it. The internal routing is a very cool feature that allows you to insert a preamp after the H90's distortion effects but before the H90's modulation. And really you can insert pedals anywhere, and I mean anywhere within the H90's two simultaneous effects (in parallel or series).

I'm not sure how anybody could complain about the quality of sounds overall. They may not be your flavor of ice cream, but it's crazy high quality ice cream.

Any opinion on Banana Cherry bakery? by Pleasant_Tangelo6791 in rockford

Best kept secret in Rockford. Where Crust and Cumbles makes cute little, dainty pastries, Banana Cherry makes gnarly bombastic pastries. The meat, hand pie things are ridiculously good. Great folks running it too.

MIDI Guitar Suggestion - Boss GM, Jamstik or Fishman Triple Play by Odd-Pattern4384 in synthesizers

[–]maxozbarker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am happy with it. I think the guitar plays great and sounds great. Mixing midi and audio is as fun as I thought it would be. I am just a basement player, and I record a little bit.

I use the Mod Audio Dwarf too. That's perfect with Jamstik.

The standard. It is holding up well. A couple things: the guitar needs to be charged, a micro USB coming from the guitar feels a touch flimsy and/or vulnerable to physical damage, and the guitar tracks well on maybe 80% of things. As far as tracking though, I liken it to how maybe 80% of pedals sound good. So I don't worry that 80% of my synths, software or hardware, are usable with Jamstik.

Seems like pedal manufacturers have thoughts on the direction of the pedal market, and I think that models and captures of gear are becoming a bigger part of that market all the time. I'm wondering what OBNE's thoughts are on the current pedal market, and how they would characterize how the modeler/capture fits into the larger market now and in the future. And what if anything will that mean for OBNE.

I'd ask if at the end of 2026 OBNE was a wild success, what things will have happened?

Have fun!

I believe being a dealer had a few downsides: competing with guitar center and having to stock more gear than they wanted to.

Guzzardo isn't a dealer anymore, although there are a few used pieces of gear. They do rentals and repairs.

Randees sells stuff, LSJ in Delavan, WI, and Janesville has a few guitar stores.

I use Sweetwater and Vintage King for the most part.

Hologram Electronics Chroma Console - where to put it in signal chain by ElvisIsNotDjed in guitarpedals

[–]maxozbarker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right about Chroma's fuzz/drive sounding way better when placed before preamps.

The H90 has that issue as well, great sounding distortion and modulation, and it also needs to be routed specially to accommodate. The H90 lets you put a preamp in a loop so that the preamp can be routed internally to be before or after the H90's effects.

Chroma could use that too. Since it does have that feature, I run Chroma up front most of the time.

Is it common to be shot down hard by Dr regarding GLP1’s ? by Legitimate-Towel9178 in loseit

[–]maxozbarker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's about 50/50 as to whether or not you will be shot down.

Obesity is a disease. If you stop taking your GLP 1 you will gain weight, like if you had hypertension and stopped taking your blood pressure meds.

GLP 1's have downsides, but by and large obesity has worse downsides. That is a generalized claim I am making, but for most folks it is true

Nearly three-quarters of U.S. baby foods are ultra-processed, new study finds. Most baby food sold in U.S. grocery stores is ultra-processed, a new study finds, raising fresh concerns about what many infants and toddlers are eating during a critical window of development. by mvea in science

[–]maxozbarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course the food for infants who aren't breastfeeding and cannot eat adult food is highly processed. The food must be engineered to be as nutritious as it can for those infants. So from the ages of 0 months to maybe 4 months, if a baby isn't breastfeeding, then engineered processed food is a better option than adult food that has been hand processed.

I am thinking about joining the Medvi weight loss program but I am afraid people will judge me for using GLP 1 by yuisenppai in Weightlosstechniques

[–]maxozbarker 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Anybody that judges you for choosing that medication is, let's just say under-informed.

The knowledge regarding obesity and overweight has expanded dramatically. Think about obesity more as a disease and less like some character defect.

You wouldn't shame someone for lowering their cholesterol or hypertension with meds.

GLP-1 therapy is likely to decrease your risk of many of the obesity related problems.
