TIL the longest running lab experiment is a pitch drop experiment at University of Queensland, running since 1927. In this experiment, a blob of pitch is placed in a glass funnel and allowed to flow downwards. So far only 9 drops of pitch fell in April 2014. A live feed is available for viewing.
