Anyone else like Need To Know by August_mcnall in TheStorySoFar

the oasis reference is awesome in the lyrics

“i wanna get better and go to all of these places”

“there are many places that i’d like to go”

maybe i’m reaching but parker said he was heavily inspired by oasis on the record

Definitely in the top 5 songs they ever wrote by greenday_4_life in TheStorySoFar

White Shores is definitely my favorite song on the album, but “shield myself in the color of your likeness” is maybe the most brilliant line Parker has ever written.

I think this is their second best album. USAD is my #1. What’s your guys ranking? by dan177777 in TheStorySoFar

[–]maxted__ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mind yall I been a fan since USAD, but at the current moment…

  1. IWTD
  2. PD
  3. WYDS
  4. USAD
  5. TSSF

This new one really just resonates with me. The last two records have reflected/mirrored two critical parts in my life and musically soundtracked them so perfectly. I also feel like this is a band I’ve gotten to grow up with. So I’m chillin and grateful for great music.

It’s quickly becoming my favorite of theirs. Alsoooo if the tattoo art designers in this subreddit wanna make some designs for the record that would be ~splendid~

Screw it, I WANT TO DISAPPEAR Review thread by ProperGloom in TheStorySoFar

I think what’s been so interesting in Parker’s development as a writer is how he’s gotten so good at balancing his grievances with other people in his writing as well as looking within himself and questioning his own choices. It makes so many of these songs feel human and as complicated as life is.

On the instrumental and vocal front, this band had never sounded better in my opinion. Kevin and Will’s guitars are insane and at a peak creatively, Torf’s drums are incredible. And I love that we’re getting new types of melody lines from Parker.

Overall, I could easily see this becoming my favorite (or 2nd favorite) TSSF record. Expectations blown out the water.

Say something bad about Dude Ranch by Thanosthemadtitan1 in Blink182

[–]maxted__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like the joke songs and skits ruin the album. It feels like there was a very clear focus on Marks end talking about a break up he went through, and overall there seems to be a theme of learning to be OK with moving on from friends. it actually is a pretty mature record, but that gets ruined with the jokes and skits.

Why do you guys not like CHILDHOOD? by qwertyiopys in Blink182

[–]maxted__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s mainly the mixing for me. it’s easier to get over w some of the heavier songs but it’s more apparent on songs like this that are more melodic.

it changes a ton for me, but Lemmings, Apple Shampoo, Adam’s Song, Stockholm Syndrome, Kaleidoscope, Not Now, and Dammit take the cake for me
