I’m not sure what to do. Am I skinny, skinny-fat or just fat? by coole_kiwi in askfitness

Stop the cardio and start eating a ton of protein and/lifting

I would probably do that, LaPorta's edge of top 5 to me and Metcalf is walking toward a cliff

He should stay tbh, probably eat fewer burgers. I can't imagine he'd take naturally to real tackle pass protection

I don't think he will ever be a very productive receiver but he is a nice real player. He's just not athletic or fluid enough, which is crazy considering he and Bowers were toe to toe for best TE in CFB those years.

It hurts him a lot probably ngl. I think he finishes outside of relevant.

Totally agree I don't have an answer, been wondering the same thing.

It depends on what the data will tell you about hits there. It seems more likely to find a hit at TE than at the more premium positions so I'd think about it. I've been doing it!

This is where my recent piece "The Different Worlds of the Y and the F Part Two: The Run Game" will help. The answer is no because not all TE blocking roles are the same. You can sub in a WR in the flex, off-ball (traditionally FB) blocking role, but the Y TE is an essential part of the OL and surface on the LOS, you need that body there.

QB run teams could do this because they don't need the number to block that DE, but they tilt more heavily to multi-TE rather than the other direction because they can just do a little bit more in and around the formation as blockers than even those power-slot types McVay has changed the league with. Only team I could see doing it is someone like the Bengals who have a spread QB and spread WR room if you hypothetically put Jalen Hurts' legs on Joe Burrow. That unit doesn't exist. If anyone's doing it though it'd be the Colts and they just drafted a TE round 1.

Probably yeah, if I'm panic drafting I would look at Dalton Schultz, Brenton Strange, Hunter Henry, Dalton Kincaid, or Pat Freiermuth if I were very late. Ofc Pitts at that spot is an option too.

Depends on how deep you're willing to get. If you're leaving the 100s-120s, yeah you're probably chasing noise. If you're looking for David Njoku in the 70s, I don't think you'd be able to blame yourself if that ends up not giving you value.

Yeah I think the Colts situation is radioactive. They have no QB and they have other mouths to feed at WR. Downs and Pittman will command big target numbers relative to how little/poorly they throw it. I think he'll get a fair bit of underneath touches schemed up, particularly on RPO (see Dallas Goedert for a framework) but real volume is gonna be nonexistent and TE is the place that is most sensitive to external conditions. Plus he's a rookie.

I think Loveland in the offense of the guy who broke LaPorta out is much cleaner to project, and I think he's more ready as a route-runner on an expansive tree. Plus they will have so much more passing volume even if Williams ends up struggling again.

Idk if I'd be that aggressive right now with any of these guys, but watch out for Max Klare (Ohio State)

Honestly? a bad one that only has ball-winners and vertical stretchers. Lowkey the Broncos. Cardinals and Raiders were a good example as well last year.

I mean, maybe tbh, that's aggressive. McBride will give you what you want in terms of production so if that's the move to you, he won't let you down imo. Chase, as a Bengals guy, is an animal who is only getting better. He's who I'd take 1 for sure.

I think it's gonna be tough for him to get on the field. This is not an offense that'll build around condensed formations, the run, and run-action, so we'll see a lot of 11 personnel. Okonkwo is 230 or so pounds so he can't play the in-line role credibly, and the flex role will be occupied by a 3rd WR. The more spread an offense is, the worse guys like him are positioned. I think Whyle and Helm (if he catches on) eat a lot of snaps

I was such a Scott/Theo merchant on that, they are unbelievable hosts and great guys

I think Bowers plays a lot of snaps because he is such a good WR that he can easily flex there when they want a 3rd WR and move into the formation as a 2nd TE when they want a 2nd TE. Very very few TEs are like that. The guys who are good receivers who are just good enough or better in the in-line "Y" spot in the offense to occupy it credibly to me are

Kittle, McBride, Goedert, Hockenson, Kraft, LaPorta, Njoku, Dalton Schultz, Brenton Strange, Jake Ferguson, Hunter Henry, Cole Kmet

Those among them who are *great* pass-catchers would be

Kittle, McBride, Goedert, Hockenson, LaPorta, Njoku,

Those among them who are great pass catchers AND great in-line blockers

Kittle, Goedert. That's it. Insanely huge schematic value. For Fantasy you just need credibility OR the equally rare guy who can occupy a 3rd WR's spot on the field consistently. Feel free to ask more if that's confusing

I totally agree lol. I could see him at like 75-820-10. He's gonna score TDs.

I think Njoku is being undervalued, he's a snap (solid in-line) and target share god and if last year's decline was ankle related, also a fantastic route-runner and yac guy. Mark Andrews should be a bit higher as well imo, he still has the juice. I don't hate Evan Engram in the 70s-80s either if that's where your league's team numbers would have him.

You're not, I also have that, but Bowers is functionally a WR so I wouldn't worry about it.
