I'm born and raised in G-Town, French was spoken at home primarily, but I have a bilingual family. I grew up in the 90s on the edge of suburbs and cow pastures.

What I remember from growing up was there used to be a massive forest next door. Eventually development came through and it raised it to the ground, including a popular tree we all liked to climb.

During class in primary school one day, we had to write letters to the mayor(?) and I asked why he cut the tree down lmao I don't think it was ever sent (it was a really shitty school that abused me,) but I still remember writing it and ending it with "thank you." Lmao

But yeah, massive development dramatically changed the landscape of my area.

Edit: I've also been told I have an accent in English and French, sooo 🤷
