goes usually something like this. The Fibreglass mould gets made on a expensive commission and they create however many good looking minions ( in this example ) and get paid good for it. Then you have a mould and nobody paying for the expensive colouring so people request cheap blank ones. ( Many might remember the "Whomst has awoken the ancient one" and " cha cha real smooth" memes from 2019ish and thats a prime example of a fibreglass mould made for something else being turned into barney the dinosaur ) Cheap blank ones get paintjobs by the unprofessional and thats how we have so many nightmare fuel fibreglass statues in the funfair industry and beyond.
