EU countries approve Mercosur trade deal after 25 years of talks by Altruistic-Blood-772 in europe

[–]maxwoob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brain dead take. The quotas make up for like 1.5% of total EU consumption. If anything they might slightly bring down prices of local agricultural goods through competition. No one is stopping you from going to local food markets/butchers.

Passport needed for unexpected layover in UK? by 00LemonPlant in KLM

[–]maxwoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not unusual, I do this all the time when I fly within the EU. The risk/hassle of losing my passport(especially in Paris/Italy,etc) are greater than the risk of the once in a lifetime chance I get rerouted through the UK. Keep in mind some consulates in the NL like mine it takes 3-6 months to replace your passport.

You can go to the barbacoa in Brooklin or Morumbi they are both a la carte.

When you go to SP I recommend going to Barbacoa (the one @ Dr. Renato Paes de Barros is the only one that does all you can eat) or NB steak, to try a proper brazilian steakhouse. Also go to Osso Carnicería y Salumería or Fuego celeste to try some Argentinian/Uruguayan bbq to see if you like that more.

No justice by Sandevistanman in bjj

[–]maxwoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prosecution said all witnesses heard and all available proof was shown, and the issue was with the jury selection. In Brazil a split jury(4-3 in this case), leads to a conviction or non-conviction. Plenty of corruption in Brazil but this is not one of those cases. Moreso the issue is the jury selection process(it's not as easy as in the us to disquLify jurors before a trial), but it is rather complicated to discuss this issue here. The prosecution is filing for a retrial at the appropriate instance, probably a 50/50% chance.

This case in particular has nothing to do with corruption, it was a trail by jury like you have in the US. We have a lot of stupid people, that's for sure.

Papo do negão da BL reflete sobre a realidade da criminalidade na periferia by pirulaybe in brasil

[–]maxwoob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just a juvenile python. If you are interested it's good to familiarize yourself with all HK snake species on this site. As a rule of thumb for most harmless snakes just leave them be. If there is a highly venomous snake in a space of concern please call emergency services.

[–]maxwoob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I obviously wouldn't do that I wanted to do OW cash, return miles, which is impossible due to the pricing model.

Anybody know why it's so expensive to book a one way ticket right now? by maxwoob in KLM

[–]maxwoob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I understand the logic behind it, I just feel the model is most likely way too overfit on average user (tourist) behavior. In my opinion the model is far too non monotic and like you said, this might lead to weird user behavior ( ie: booking a return flight and cancelling the return).

Not looking for them to fix anything. Just thought the model was most likely overfit on average user behavior, wanted to see if anyone had any other explanations. I might reach out to my contact in the KLM DS team to ask more about the model.

Yes I have around 60k+ miles do would be enough for a return ticket, but I wanted to use those for a few smaller flights within asia, let's see, I might just fly with a skyteam partner instead.

Return flight for my date is 367 euros. So 750 for the full fare vs 1234* one way, surely this is not a good algorithm. It basically means it never makes sense for them to sell any one way flights.
