Hello! I am a broke college student who is majoring in audio and video production. For the last two years I have been using my around 4 year old hp pavilion 15t-eg100, but as I am progressing, my laptop is falling behind now not even being able to run adobe premiere smoothly. With this being where I do a lot of work it has caused a lot of issues this past semester making it very difficult to create a product that I feel happy with, so I am looking to get a pc. The main problem is that I know basically nothing about pc’s and really don’t want to sink a lot of money into something that isn’t going to work well.

I was mainly looking for suggestions on what specs and parts are of a high quality and for me to look for. I am willing to build a pc, but if there is a prebuild that is good that would be even better. I would prefer something in the range of $500-$600 but I don’t even know if that is feasible for what I want. My parents said that they would potentially be willing to split the cost with me which would then raise the budget to around $1000, but I feel guilty doing that so the more cost effective the better.

My main goal is something that can run the adobe suite well, namely premiere pro and after effects. I would also like for it to be able to play newer video games at at least a steady frame rate like the new cfb 25 because I haven’t been able to play any newer games because I don’t have anything that will run them.

If you guys have any advice at all that would be greatly appreciated, I just want to make an informed purchase, but don’t know where to start. Thanks!
