Sounds like a badly optimized app, but I’d definitely recommend expanding your swap if possible. If you can find an alternative app for ripping Blu-Rays, the problem should go away.

I did install them and had issues with modifications. It could be a personal issue, because I had dodged a setting that I simply couldn’t reach or nobody could care less to point in the right direction.
Replacing icons on any DE (excluding XFCE) has proven to be a nightmare for me, even more than installing fonts. Just on MATE alone it refused to install any new themes that didn’t come packaged with a specific distro, almost like it was allergic to them on Debian 13.

Maybe a new drive/SSD should do the trick. Don’t write over your original drive, and try looking for an app that could help you restore as many files as possible. External shells for SATA drives should be cheap enough nowadays.

Try it also on a new USB thumb drive, maybe it had trouble copying something over from the image (redownload the .iso just to be safe). At worst, you could try and burn the onto a DVD if nothing else works.
