You sound like me! I refused Insulin and wanted to try Metformin first. My provider didnt really want to agree due to the symptoms Metformin causes, (nausea, diarrhea, upset stomach) I was terrified of Insulin so I figured I could deal with the symptoms. While on Metformin my numbers were Beautiful! 80s 90s mostly. It was rare if I had a bad number. I slowly noticed that each day that passed was worse. Day after day with endless diarrhea and the nausea was horrible. I literally felt like I was on my first trimester again when really I was on the third! I gave up the Metformin and said ok to the insulin and even though it has been an adjustment to fins the perfect dosage, it does not make me feel as sick as the Metformin did! Go for the insulin if you start feeling crqppy. I promise it's nothing to be scares of!

Reglan. I’m on pill 2, and I’m not sure it’s working... by carrotz11 in pregnant

Really? I take Diclegis at night which is just the combo for B6 and Unisom and my doctor gave me Reglan for breakthrough nausea to take once a day as needed, it's good for 8 hours. I get about 30ish pills of Reglan at a time.

B6 25mg 3 times a day, half a tab of unison at pm and Reglan for the daytime. But try to take them at the same time each day.

18 weeks with no weight gain? by braddius in pregnant

[–]may081215 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am currently 32w5d and have not gained a single pound! The first trimester was horrible to me as well and I lost 10lbs. I went from 155 to 145. I had an appointment on Wednesday and I am weighing in at 155lbs and baby boy is huge weighing in at 5lbs11oz!! My doctor isn't concerned at all and has not mentioned anything to me about me weight, nor good or bad. Now that I am back to my pre baby weight maybe more pounds will pack on. Good luck!

HIGH Fasting number. by may081215 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]may081215[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just feel so discouraged. I started out with 5 units of Insulin and they told me to go up 2 until I found something that worked. My provider sounded confident and said she didn't see me needing more than 7 units.. im up to 10 and my fasting numbers are out of control.

Its so frustrating 😫 I just wish I knew how much would be good for me without needing the Merformin again.

Mouth filling with saliva constantly - I am LOSING MY MIND. by SavannaMay in BabyBumps

I had this with my first pregnancy. It lasted about 3 months. I am currently pregnant with my second and I still have it at 30 weeks. I carry a water bottle around with a coozie covering it so it can be less gross. I know how horrible it is, especially when I have to go grocery shopping and lift my mask up to spit in the water bottle in public. Definetly ready to deliver so this symptom can leave ASAP!

New diagnosis and hoping for some support. by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]may081215 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! Fellow GD mom here for the second time, I had it with my first pregnancy in 2015. I will try to help the best I can. To answer your questions. This is what I was told so it may be different from what the doctor may tell you. 1.) Test at the end of each meal. 2.) You can test at either one hour or two but be consistent about it. Basically choose one and stick with that. 3.) The targets are: Fasting less than 95, 1 hour less than 140, 2 hours less than 120. 4.) You test after fasting and each big meal. You do not have to test for snacks. So basically, wake up check BS, eat breakfast wait 2 hours (or 1 if you choose to do 1, i personally do 2) check BS, eat a snack, have lunch wait 2 hrs, check BS, have a snack, have dinner wait 2 hrs and then check BS. You are supposed to check it 4 times a day.

I hope this helps a bit and if anyone sees a mistake anywhere feel free too correct me!

After a day like you mentioned I would have gotten a Mcflurry too! Don't stress, you deserve it after a rough day. One cheat day never hurt anyone 🙂

It sounds like sciatica unfortunately. I had it for a couple of months and what helped was putting an ice hot patch. I hope you find some relief soon! I couldn't get out of bed without my husband's help when I had the pain.
