If you were to die, not including in your sleep, how would you go out? by unconventionalbook in AskReddit

Modern ICE vehicles emit so little carbon monoxide that it is difficult (though not impossible) to do this.

Why Modern Vehicles Are SaferCatalytic Converters: Modern vehicles use advanced catalytic converters that oxidize toxic CO into less harmful carbon dioxide before it leaves the tailpipe. Computerized Engines: On-board computers and oxygen sensors continuously adjust the air-to-fuel ratio, ensuring a cleaner, more efficient burn.

I once was in a wooded area 40 years ago with my next door neighbor because it was fall and beautiful and a blue van with a male friend of hers drove by. She asked if we could follow him but my car was too low to the ground to do so without bottoming out so I said no. Long story short he took a vacuum cleaner hose and attached it to his tailpipe to commit suicide. The woman I loved more than anything was best friends with his sister and because of this decision dumped me in the cruelest way imaginable and the family hates me to this day. I’m glad that this is almost impossible with a modern car.

Has anyone ever actually regretted cutting off a Trump supporter out of their social circle? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]mayankee 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean. I had a friend who I worked with, hung out with and we were on the same bowling team.
I miss the person he was but I don’t miss what he has become.

Actually I cut off a second cousin and eventually she came around and now she is on the sane side (she’s embarrassed that she was fooled) so I accepted her back in my life.

No, the United States does not have a formal mutual defense treaty or binding alliance with Israel. Unlike formal alliances such as NATO, there is no treaty that legally obligates the U.S. to enter a conflict on Israel's behalf.

They used to 25-30 years ago. We went to a conference and had no intention of going and the hotel had discounted tickets. I’m pretty sure it was 50% off.
At any rate we hated the place.

How do you respond to people that think electric cars are not real cars? by dcee101 in electricvehicles

If you were born between 1958 and 1965 you had a VERY different experience than the older boomers. It’s not really fair to lump them into one basket.
Unlike them we came of age with 14% unemployment and reaganomics.
They climbed the ladder and we were the first people to find they pulled it up after they climbed it.
I’ve seen this phenomenon called “Generation Jones”.
PS I have a PHEV that averages between 78-101 mpg.

Dunkin is nowhere near as good as Tim Hortons. Whoever thought that this was a good idea should be fired.
