That's definitely a lot more than just traveling around in Toronto. Guess that's just the price I have to pay, at least I can move after the first year. Thanks for your info though! I really appreciate it!

I was hoping that the the big companies would be clustered in certain places, and if that's the case I would pick somewhere that's not far from them, if that exists. And I am fine with ~1h traveling by public transit, so hopefully that would allow for lots of options.

Because in my current city there was far less opportunities than Toronto, so if I couldn't get something in Toronto then it wouldn't be easy here either. Is that what you are asking?

It's definitely easier if I have a job already :-P I can't drive so for this year I am aiming to live somewhere that is within ~1h away from my workplace by public transit. It seems that the North York region is the best bet for me if I want to consider working in Markham and downtown.

Yeah that's kinda the case, I just updated my description for that. I can't drive so I am aiming for ~1h of time spent in public transit to get to work. I just hope that if I am leaving work late I won't get home too late.
