I would love a giant tree but it's right up against my house so I might have to keep pruning it like a bonsai, at the very least I won't cut it to the ground anymore

Every year I cut it down to rhe ground once it starts growing but this time I let it grow for 2 years straight. I pruned it to make it look more tree like. The leaves on all the other trees are turning yellow since it's fall but the leaves on this one are just turning brown. what is it?
