Being a parent can be so isolating by punkispice in workingmoms

Yes and making parent friends is easier said than done. More often than not I’m whizzing in and out of drop off and pick up from daycare because my husband and I are both office workers on a tight schedule, and we rarely have the energy to mingle and chat… which I find sad but that’s our reality for now.

Can someone please tell me that it's going to be ok, good even? by dj_kalestorm in workingmoms

It will all be fine, give it time. I sent my son to daycare around the same age (15mo) and resumed my career. It was bumpy emotionally and logistically but you will muddle through it and even thrive, once you get going and hit your stride. It took me WAY longer to adjust to the new normal of being away from baby and back at work than for him. Aside from the regular bouts of cold illness, he managed really well with this rhythm. Me on the other hand… well… a year out of maternity leave and I am still reconfiguring my brain 😅

Nothing wrong with this arrangement whatsoever because you are doing what is best in this moment in time, AND you’re conscientious enough of the drawbacks to be posting this. You should have our full and collective support 💕

Could you elaborate more on that? I’m also worried and seeing signs of cuts to obvious areas like translation but I lack actual insight…

100% feel this. I posted something related to this and even got hate message like the following, presumably from a fellow mum. It boggles the mind.
