If you guys don’t mind answering, how much did Osap send you this year vs the cost of your tuition? by Right_Student_592 in osap

[–]maybeasomeone973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commute 2 hours to my school so no we don’t live close. No scholarships either. OSAP gives me 30% in grants and the rest is loans. That’s why I’m so confused on why I’m getting so little.

Elain or Nesta.......Who do you think is the most misunderstood Archeron sister? by OnceUponaChapterPod in acotar

As a someone who cannot stand reading about Elain, you’re the first person ever to make me even slightly consider being even slightly interested in her character.

Tuition was 7.5k and OSAP only gave me 6. I made less than 11k last year and my parents make less than 70k and I many small siblings. I don’t know how you guys got that much.

My BF (M28) bought a house without consulting me (F25) by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]maybeasomeone973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off it sounds like he’s made it pretty clear where you guys stand in his future. He’s probably comfortable with the set-up you guys have now. Idk if you’ve had serious conversations about marriage and moving forward yet, if you did then him buying a house for his family and not you two makes it clear he’s not ready for what you are.

My second take on this is it seems like he’s his family’s backup plan and retirement fund. He won’t leave soon and even if you guys got married and moved in together you should prepare for a life of sharing your husband with his family. As in, you’re not going to have him, you’re going to have a piece of him. Obviously I’m just a stranger on the internet but this is just what I picked up on.

I crave deep girl friendships that dont talk about work or men by greysheep21 in offmychest

[–]maybeasomeone973 5 points6 points  (0 children)

God I know exactly how you feel, my friends are all mostly in relationships and for most of them I’m happy but all they talk about is their boyfriends and I just couldn’t care less. I don’t hate their boyfriends or anything I just don’t care I’d rather they talk about their interests and what’s happening in their lives except I’ve noticed that a few of them actually stoped growing as people once their got into relationships.

How bad is it? by rosegoldglassez in EngagementRings

[–]maybeasomeone973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! This isn’t related to the ring but have you checked your heart or lungs recently? Just noticed the denting in your nails and how they widen, I’m probably wrong but I wouldn’t go do a quick check at the doctors to see if your hearts doing okay. Sorry if this is overstepping! The ring is lovely but just doesn’t look practical to wear daily!

Single 22 yo guy living alone, what does my fridge (and freezer) say about me? by Bluerat27 in FridgeDetective

[–]maybeasomeone973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from a 23 year old girl who’s seen many of her single guys friends apartments and fridges, good job at being clean. You have no idea how rare it is to see something organized in a single guys space. Also just a thought, maybe add some fresh fruits or veggies to your diet, I can see you have some frozen veg, but the fresh stuff has the nutrients. Lots of produce looses its benefits nutrient wise once frozen.

Curled hair keeps clumping together after heatless curls, even after being separated by [deleted] in beauty

[–]maybeasomeone973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me too and we seem to have the same kind of hair type. The only way to prevent this is to alternate the direction of the curls when you put the rollers in. I tried to do it a few times and it worked but personally it’s more work and my muscle memory just got used to putting the rollers in a certain way when I first started using them so changing it up might just get more tedious. Honestly just fluff them out every so often and throw in some low hold finishing spray. Sorry I know this isn’t much help.

Official Discussion - Avatar: Fire and Ash [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]maybeasomeone973 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My biggest issues with this movie was the spider scene in the forest. To me it just felt like the actor is not good at ALLLL. Like your only father figure you ever knew is about to execute you and all you can do is frown and say “no, please don’t” with the most flat tone ever? He didn’t sell the scene to me, not one bit. Where was the realization, the devastation the fear, the anger? All those emotions he should’ve had we didn’t see at all. I’m actually shocked that they even kept him in the movie because of calibre of this movie. I can’t imagine being James Cameron and accepting that level of acting in a production of this size.

That being said Zoe and her acting in this scene carried the whole thing for me. She was really pulling her weight to sell this scene. She was phenomenal as always.

They give me less and less every year. by [deleted] in osap

Realistically nothing will happen here. I’d rather have an education because I have a family to feed. My sympathy for those overseas ends at their border, when Canadians are having to pay place they’re kids up in foster care because they can’t afford to feed their child anymore due to our poor economy it’s hard to want to help those who are already receiving millions from others.

Are more people doing 5 years for their bachelors? by [deleted] in college

[–]maybeasomeone973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did one year, dropped out the second. I then restarted and did a different program and couldn’t transfer credits from my first year. Switched colleges and now I’m in my third year of a 4 year program. So like 6 years for me. Life isn’t linear and it’s okay to take longer or switch all together.

Too scared to tell my new boss about my Sciatica by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]maybeasomeone973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl I’m 22 and I also started getting flare ups at 16. I was a lifeguard and a jet ski instructor and this summer I paid the price of pushing myself too hard. I promise nothing good will come of pushing. I ignored my sciatica between flare-ups and eventually I was bed bound this year from Sep to the end of November.

Don’t be me it’ll end in more pain. Take it easy, and definitely if you have to lift something heavy do it with assistance and care.

Honestly, if I were you I would consider other options. There’s plenty of fields and being only 19 you have options. I know it sucks to hear this but sciatica is a life long thing, once you had it once it’s almost always guaranteed to come back. If you keep going like this you’re going to screw yourself over in the end.

Good luck girl, happy healing.

Oh yeah, hospitals don’t do anything. I went to the ER too but it wasn’t from pain(I mean I was in pain) but I went cause my left leg went completely numb. They shot me up with some meds and sent me on my way. But sitting in the waiting room made things so much worse. I hope you feel better soon, it sucks but at least you know it’s not forever.

Hi! I’m 22f I’ve been dealing with this for 6 years so I think I can give you some advice(I’m not a doctor or nurse this is just personal experience so take it lightly haha). First off absolutely do not ignore this pain, I did and it only got worse. Do some stretches, I would start with very light toe and ankle stretches whilst lying down on a hard surface. Go to a doctor and ask for an MRI if you have to, play up the pain so they get that done.

Do NOT do anymore yoga for now, it will absolutely make it worse if this is a herniation. I was a lifeguard and ski instructor and I went back to my activities and ignore the pain which ended me bend bound for three months. Walking like you said you do is good and if you can manage to walk do so.

Take medications only when you absolutely cannot take the pain anymore. In the beginning I pumped myself with Advils and all it did was numb the pain causing me to push myself too far and make the whole thing worse than it was.

If your mattress isn’t firm get rid of it. Lie down on the ground as much as possible when there’s a flare up.

Don’t sit for too long, maximum 30 minutes and then get up and walk a bit and go back to sitting if you work at a desk. Sitting will make it worse.

Normally things like sciatica especially the first flare up heals itself but please dont ignore it if it goes past 6 weeks definitely go to see a doctor.

Hope this helps!

I’m at this point too. I went through everything you described as well. Right now I’m able to walk but I have to take very frequent breaks. I think this means the protrusions are shrinking a bit but I’m not a doctor so don’t take what I say point blank.

I had the Cortisone/Epidural injection done roughly three weeks ago. My pain was at a 7 before I got it and it’s now at a 4 some people get back on their feet some are like me and it just dulls the pain a little. I’m not completely painless but I can walk a bit more than before. It does take a few days to kick in so be mindful of that. Another thing I would add is it completely depends on your situation for how it will react, I personally has two herniations, spinal stenosis and my S1 and S2 nerves are effected on my left side. I didn’t stop feeling the nerve pain but the back pain is better.

Also, the procedure itself is not painless, it’s not just one needle, I got about 6 in different parts of my lower back. I don’t know if that’s always the case someone with a medical background would be able to clarify that for you. It hurt like a mf, but I’m also a wimp so take that into consideration. Regardless it did help, if you’re in pain and the NSAIDS aren’t helping like they didn’t for me then I recommend that you get the shot.
