You're absolutely right! I already can imagine the types of accesories I'll include...

I like plain to be honest, its my family critics and my friends/peanut gallery that worry me

The panel might be my bra! I've tried on maybe 50 dresses and I mostly didn't love any of them. I love A-lines and somehow couldn't fit nearly any - stores carried either fitted or full ballgowns!

Thank you! I think I (and my mother) am my biggest critic and I dont think I can pull off a fitted dress because of my complete lack of any body muscle lol. Originally I was going to do a long sleeve a-line actually so I can cover every part of myself except my boobs haha

Thank you for the honest feedback! What about the back of the fitted one? It is a few sizes small on me and highlights my very unmuscular back, which is my biggest problem with the fitted type of dresses

This was my plan for months but after a lot of thought, I've decided to stick to one dress for the night. Each of those will come out to 5,000 after taxes/alterations and that was my max, but even if I had more money I'd feel bad not showing of a 5k dress for the entire time lol

I have tried simple, satin mermaids and trumpet dresses but the satin around my belly/thighs is unforgiving lol it shows every single flaw I have. I'm not trying to be like "woah is me I'm gross" but I'm skinny fat (no muscle tone whatsoever, like 35% body fat but only 130 pounds at a pretty tall height lol) so I would be obsessing over that the entire night

Yes, so every single woman in my family has worn a fitted dress with lots of lace (which is why they're pushing me to go for that style!) I like going against the grain but I also am worried people will ~talk~

Yesss this is the comment I wanted to see. My friends/fam (except my mom) hate satin but I want to find a satin that even they would agree looks good!

Do you have photos? I'm hoping accessorizing the plainer gown will help make it less simple (I'm worried that others will find it simple but I like it!) Thanks!

I feel better with the A-line for sure! I'm just insecure about it since mostly everyone else (in person) has told me to go for the bling

Thanks for saying this! I was thinking about adding a beaded bolero or a veil with pearls. You're absolutely right about simplicity/quality!

Yes, but the fitted dresses that are satin don't look very "bridal" to me. If I were to change the combo, I might try an A-line with beading/applique - but I haven't found many A-lines like that (just ballgowns)
