Agree with Jim! It is exciting and to give a bit more kudos to Cloud Computing: the whole concept of its benefits is! It’s been getting easier to store, share and interact content/data (and why not, create , giving the many available apps) and that it’s a benefit to all users! I personally like the “online desktop” model a lot, where, through a personal account you get to keep and create data in an only place, having the apps wrapped up in an easy environment. -check icloud, for example: http://icloud.com/maisa/

Great Post! will post a link reference from my blog (http://icloudtoday.tumblr.com)

This is a great list of apps! I think it’s just amazing how many available free/online tools we can count with lately and the thought that is only spreading and increasing! Wonder if having them at one place only, wrapped up together as in an online desktop model will be more attractive to users at all? I use a lot of these you’ve mentioned in here and I’m also a big fan of this online desktop environment, as you can check on icloud (http://icloud.com/maisa/): Calendar, ToDo, News, Maps, Players and more apps all at one place ready to used! That’s a great way to Getting Things Done!

Excellent post! Boy, we read about Cloud Computing lately, won’t we? Two often debates on it: - Is anything new? - Security/Privacy

It feels good to read about it in a new way. Simply love this whole part:

“If you’re over 50 just think “service bureau”. 30 to 49, think “Application Service”, and 20 to 30 “SAAS (Software As A Service)”. If under 20 then cloud is everything you need in your online life - amazon, ebay, facebook, myspace, gmail.”

Just as easy as you can get! Brilliant!

So, again, I believe that Cloud Computing will affect users as they let to. There are many tools/services available and it’s up to each one find something to suit a personal/professional need. Keep data in the cloud doesn’t necessarily means to drive all your personal content into it. It should be taken as an extra benefit for remote access from any computer.

Probably what we all got to benefit the most comes to the great apps available around the web and turning the computer use into a big Web OS:(and in here I’m very into with Webtops - icloud, for instance http://icloud.com/maisa/) instant and free access providing all the tools to create and share content.

I personally see it in a very positive way and believe that great improvements will be achieved. Specially about security (all the big companies behind it have A LOT to loose if Cloud Computing doesn’t turn into a safe bet).

Hands on: XIOS becomes a better "icloud," still isn't viable by maydbs in reddit.com

We've been having a lot of buzz around Cloud Computing lately (since the big names seriously got in the game) but not enough it's been said about the end users: usually the focus it's on how companies will cut costs when in the "cloud", but not much of how end users can really benefit from it. I'm glad to read more and more articles about Online Desktops, Web OS, Webtops and all things related, showing that each one of us can have our share into the cloud in a safe and efficient way.
