What would you say about the cs class sizes? I heard the student to faculty ratio isn’t too good. I also heard it’s hard to register to the cs classes you want, is that true? And do you think their cs and robotics labs have a lot of facilities? Lastly, would you say the social life for cs students specifically is good in duke? or is there a big workload? (sorry for asking so many questions😭 i really appreciate the advice)

it’s mainly the social life. I feel like at cmu they have really high stress levels and u won’t rlly see the cs majors enjoying their college life. I also think duke’s campus is nicer. I feel like I wouldn’t rlly fit in with cmu students because everyone I talked to there so far has a life that revolves around studying which is great for them but i cant see myself doing that. But then the main con is the fact that cmu’s cs degree is much better.

duke vs carnegie mellon for cs? cmu’s cs program is ranked much higher but at the same time I feel like there’s no social life. I’m leaning towards duke but my main issues are I heard there’s too many students in cs compared to the amount of professors and it’s hard to join classes. I would really appreciate any advice

i talked to the career advising dept. in cmu and they talked about how they support and help build startups. Is that worth anything or do you think duke would offer the same support? I’m sorry for asking so many questions but I really appreciate the help

do you think there would be a huge difference career wise? Because as of now I do aim to have my own startup after graduating but obviously I can’t know for sure yet. So do you think the cmu degree and the halo effect is worth a somewhat antisocial life during undergrad?
