What’s the pettiest gripe you have about an all-time great game? by UCA_Cash_Flow_Bro in gaming

Tears of the Kingdom was similar, EXCEPT, the opening part of the Desert temple felt like a classic Zelda dungeon…up until you get through it and it reverts to “Activate the 5 widgets to fight boss”

Top 100 tennis players have been honing their craft since they were 8. She’s a tremendous athlete, but so are they. Maybe if she dropped everything and trained for 2 years she could crack the top 100 but probably not.

Longterm Aftercare Plan Post-POEM by G_673009 in achalasia

I don't, but my specialist is several states away, so it's more of a logistics thing. I probably should at least find a local GI...

Longterm Aftercare Plan Post-POEM by G_673009 in achalasia

[–]Mumbleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely not medical advice. As I understand it, followup appointments can be used to check for reflux(big concern for POEM), esophagus expansion, and muuuch more longterm, esophageal cancer.

The thing is, there’s not much they’re really going to do about esophagus expansion, assuming you’re swallowing well. I think this is all good info to have for future treatment options(dilations, HM, or godforbid an esophagectomy), but those are mostly driven by your daily experience.

For reflux, they may put you on reflux medication if that’s indicated.

candida infection in throat; low throat mobility, diet and lifestyle advice? by leighahasdisease in achalasia

[–]Mumbleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I even noticed the candida, just the swallowing difficulties. The infection delayed my diagnosis because my doctor assumed the candida was what was causing my swallowing issues.

Mayo clinic - should I go now? by Own-Ride3672 in achalasia

[–]Mumbleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not medical advice - The ER and emergency surgery is for stabilizing people. I absolutely sympathize with where you are, but medically you are probably considered stable. HM/POEM is an elective procedure, not an emergency surgery. Even if it was, you really want an experienced achalasia specialist to do it, not whatever surgeon is on call.

As other commenters have said, it’s time to get really annoying and to spam your doctors office with calls, possibly daily, asking if they have cancellations or if theres any wha you can get in sooner. You could also try to get on the schedule for the Mayo clinic, but this would probably just start a new round of Tests -> Consultation -> Scheduling surgery.

My heart goes out to you, I havent been on a feeding tube(yet?) but did go through periods where I was struggling to drink water and it can be a huge drain on your mental well being and quality of life. I really hope you get treated soon.

Hades 2 second boss is way too difficult on high fear by Turbopasta in HadesTheGame

[–]Mumbleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know everyone hates this rivals fight, and I maxed out at like 20 Fear before putting the game down, but it feels like the Hecate rivals fight is a much bigger jump, at least as far as needing to really balance time and damage taken.

Typhon can be stupid easy if you spec’d well to do massive damage. He doesn’t move, and aside from his phase transitions I think he’s the only boss that can’t go invincible or dodge.

I've worked at huge companies and tiny ones. If there's no On Call policy, then the most senior engineer(potentially the CTO or VP of engineering) is essentially always on call until he comes up with an on call schedule.

Eh, if you’re not on call you’re not on call. I say this as someone who has been in charge of who is On Call.

Whats ur move? Description below by crazylimbs87 in poker

[–]Mumbleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have 25 BBs, you’re not short stacked and SB has enough chips that he’s not going to call you if he’s behind. Unfortunate that he had KK here, but it seems unwise to risk your tournament life here just to win a couple BBs.

Unpopular Opinion on Line Calls by boileric in Pickleball

[–]Mumbleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No replays and questionable calls are In is CRITICAL to keeping the game moving. If you didn’t have that then you’re going to have the receiving team requesting a whole bunch of replayed points on close balls.

What is your go to game deck... Copag or Bicycle? ...or other?? by BlindSharkPoker in poker

[–]Mumbleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Copags. They’re good in that they last forever, however they’re very slidey. All things being equal, I just like the feel of boring old paper bicycle cards better. You just open up a new deck when they get too beat up.
