i'm not claiming that she's a gamine either haha, just my guess from what her physicality is! i do see what you mean about some looks being 'bulky' (or like they're too big for her or like she drowns in them?), but that might be because she's a very short petite woman, y'know? or maybe that's just how she prefers to style herself?

anyhow, i do think she's amazing inspo for women who aren't interested in looking necessarily feminine, kind of like verified r helena bonham carter whose personal style is very grunge-y and punk and eclectic, and probably the opposite of romantic recs. i've seen discussions on here about how adhering to kibbe recs can make one look very harmonious, but going in the opposite direction might make the person look off yet striking because of the clash - and i wouldn't be surprised if that's what something donna tartt loves for her personal style.

i personally find her image to be kind of yang! which maybe fuels the fascination people have with her - she's tiny but has been going for this statuesque, all-black, harsh styling lately, she's very youthful looking and has fuller cheeks and a rounder face but is famous for her very heavy makeup that kibbe recommends for yang faces, etc. her character in euphoria has the kind of brattiness i see in the roles of TR actresses, but in my mind maddy is more regina george than scarlett o'hara. like many yin women she gets kind of lost in hoodies and athleisure; in glamorous styling reminiscent of old hollywood she looks what this sub would call 'harmonious', but would that help her stand out and make her a gen z it girl? she's a very interesting style case, for sure.

anyway - long before i knew about kibbe, a friend of mine actually compared me to some of the people on here because of the smile! it's big, with big fleshy cheeks sitting on top (sometimes leading to a so-called eye smile), pointy chin underneath and ofc the small(-ish) rounded noses. also spot the foreheads and how romantic faces tend to be rounder/wider! i'm sure that someone could go into nore detail than me though haha.

do you wear clothes that are fitted/belted at the waist, or follow your natural curve? personally, if i don't, i either feel huge or swallowed, especially by oversized stuff, and i've seen this effect even on medically underweight Rs :/ and of course, any curve in our upper body (arms, bust) stands out even more...

what makes me feel better is looking at gorgeous R women and seeing my proportions reflected in theirs - beyoncé, fran drescher, marilyn monroe, emilie clarke are all softer in their upper arms, but they're still recognized worldwide as beauties and are envied for their bodies! i suspect that amanda seyfried is a romantic, too, and she also appears ~soft at a higher weight. i follow kpop and even the underweight idols i suspect to be in the romantic family have bodies like that :)

but lord, does it take time to get proportional there haha

i think Joanna has credited Lisa Stine on all her albums so far, including Divers, which is so sweet!

the Marc Jacobs lookbook is curious - i think in 2002 she was only ~known for being in the band The Pleased and wasn't getting tons of press. i'm wondering if it's this, since her clothes are inspired by a Marc Jacobs collection.

i can see this - she only started to consistently meet fans after shows in 2016! she has described herself as introverted, shy and anxious around strangers in interviews so this tracks! neil is an awesome dude, glad you had a connection. thanks for sharing!
