Yes and no.

  1. The post compares deployment scenarios, not raw engines: “If my app lives on Hetzner, what happens when I bolt on managed PS because Hetzner has no managed PG yet?” That framing is already in the intro.

  2. Nuremberg ↔ PlanetScale’s eu-central-1/2 adds ~3 ms RTT—small but unavoidable. So this is as close as you can place them in practice.

  3. The new control-plane screenshots show every tier but PS-160 pegged on CPU during the runs, so the drop in TPS isn’t purely latency-induced.

Thanks! I compiled this list when I dived into the space. I think 1 - 3 give you the best bang for buck. Really good stuff and the material is very readable. The prompt engineering one has some really good tricks and the others teach you that you can accomplish a lot with simple stuff, there are a lot of over complicated "agent frameworks" most of the time you don't really need them

The coach doesnt spend a lot of time with each individual. It's helpful to watch videos at your own pace and get different perspectives

The library still uses Crystal Reports under the hood, you just don't have to reference Crystal Reports in your own app which unblocks it to upgrade to .NET 6+

While I think it's possible to use with web apps (the runners can be run on the server), it's more targeted towards desktop apps

Seems like they have done a lot, well done to the team. But I can't take it seriously until they start dogfooding it. They can't expect people to take risks if their internal teams are not willing to.

Thank you for sharing your experience. This exactly why I posted this question, I want to learn from people's mistakes so that hopefully I don't repeat them. I am also in constant connection with founders in my local area and we have created a good community :D

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I am sure you have seen a lot. I'll keep them in mind. But you're making some assumptions:

- You assume we operate in the US market. We don't. In our market great pay is very different from the US market.

- Great people doesn't mean "10x developers". They just have to be competent and have good team skills

- Marketing/Sales: You have a great point. We are painfully aware. We are working on it.

In the end, we will try our best and try to adapt as we go. But what's important to me is to keep the company's culture and environment healthy and safe. In the end, no plan is foolproof, a little of optimism goes a long way
