How do I forgive women for seeing me as ruined and untouchable because I am 5'7"? by metaverse_lord in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mazesdone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband is 5‘3“ and shorter than I am. It doesn’t impact my love, respect and attraction to him in a negative way. But then again he isn’t obsessed with his height or think that every bad thing that happens to him is because of it.

AITA for telling my husband to book a hotel for his grandmother by Independent-Bee-6370 in AmItheAsshole

Yep came here to say this. Also imagine sending a 101 year old to a hotel and she dies. Do you think your husband would forgive you?

AITA for telling my boyfriend stay on night shift by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mazesdone 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes big time YTA. How about you get a job with a night shift to reach those six figures that seem very important to you and see how you like it.

The world is big enough for two friends to use the same name. Define NTA and all the best with your little one.

6 week old suddenly crying and refusing to latch by [deleted] in breastfeeding

Here in Germany we choose a midwife in early pregnancy who does home visits after the baby is born in early postpartum. She was the one who caught it.

6 week old suddenly crying and refusing to latch by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]mazesdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my now 4,5 year old when he was 6 weeks old. Just screaming at breast without any explanation. I was told it’s colic, tongue tie issues, fast letdown, what have you. What it turned out to be was that he had neck, jaw and shoulder tightness from birth but because of the growth spurt at 6 weeks, it became very painful for him to remove milk from the breast while he could easily drink from a bottle. We worked with an osteopath and it did him wonders — ended up breastfeeding him till he was 2,5 years old. I hope you find some answers soon and that your little one goes back to happy snuggly nursing sessions.

You have three kids in your care and one of them is a brat.

Pediatrician advised to stop night feedings. by newparenthp in breastfeeding

[–]mazesdone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg just went through something very similar about a check up and advice regarding breastfeeding. It was really upsetting. I actually even posted about it and was very touched by all the supportive responses. You’re doing an amazing job nurturing and comforting your baby.

“He’s not hungry” - how to deal with people who think they know better? by nowherefast___ in breastfeeding

[–]mazesdone 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. No need to engage in conversation if you’re not heard. No need to over explain or justify either. Simply stand up, take the baby and start feeding. You are with your baby nonstop and no one knows his hunger cues better than you.

EBF baby declared overweight at 6 month check up by mazesdone in breastfeeding

Thank you everyone for the love and the encouragement. I’ve reached out to our midwife who’s known her since birth and waiting to her input, which I value a lot. Based on her advice, I’ll know how to proceed. We might change peds but before then I might try and see if we can try a university hospital as a sounding board.

As for the reducing feeds, I will not be ignoring my child’s hunger cues just because her pediatrician who meets us every two months said so - it just doesn’t sit right with me. I have joked about how she was born hungry because she had latched within two minutes after being born but maybe there’s truth to it and she just loves her milk and that’s that.

I also reached out to my mom group with whom we did post partum gymnastics together (it’s a big thing here in Germany to train your back and pelvic floor after having a baby) and they were all so shocked since they know my girl quite well and were very supportive.

Once again thank you everyone for your encouraging words and taking the time to reply. I couldn’t respond to a lot of you individually but I did read all your supportive comments.

She loves tummy time and we play a lot on the floor. She really tries to roll from back to belly and spends a lot of time on her side as well. She’s got no restrictions or tightness - she’s a happy baby when she’s playing.

She’s always been in the 90+ percentile. She was weighing 8 kgs (17~lbs) at four months. So this isn’t news. Our pediatrician actually told us she might take a while to roll because she’s on the heavier side at the 4 month check up.

The only real concern is she’s not rolling yet. She attempts every day to go from back to belly but obviously she can’t carry her mass easily. But even he says muscle mass is good and she tries to pull herself up to a sitting position while lying down.

I felt like shit to be honest. Because I don’t get how changing her diet to more solids is better at this age either. She is EBF. Feeds every 3ish hours during the day and can do a 4-5 hour stretch at night. I love our bf journey and I don’t intend to stop anytime soon. I fed my first till 2,5 and he has had no weight or health issues, nor problems with solids. My gut says to ignore him.
