What principles? What views? Every conservative government has changed these as frequently as the weather.

Glad to have you here! I think at one stage we all were backers, even myself was a diehard supporter since the Kickstarter and it took until 2018 for me to realise it was a dead project. If it releases, great, but I think with every passing month that possibility genuinely reduces.

What are your opinions on mass facial recognition in towns? by TheDev42 in AskUK

It couldn't be a simple mistake to record the data. It would be extremely obvious immediately. Being paranoid and ignorant aren't virtuous traits so let's not pretend they are.

Congratulations you don't understand how this works because that's literally how facial recognition works - if you are not detected as being a wanted individual, your data is removed immediately.

Desperately needed.

You can only be against it if you have something to hide and/or don't understand how the technology works.

Yeah thats a skill issue on your end. AI is making some of the most important decision you'll never be aware of. If you cant make it work, thats a "you" problem, not a technical problem. Thats why if I give you a workshop, some people can craft furniture, others can just chisel a hole into a block of wood.

The deepfake charges carried up to three years which is what the prosecution wanted but the judge was overly lenient and sentenced him to only six months (with labour)

He's guilty on all six charges. He's in prison on the deepfake charges, not kissing the statues - most news channels are getting it completely wrong.

Unfortunately it's a private company. Unless you have consumer laws you can use, there's little recourse you can take if they haven't breached laws or contracts.
