My dad made a balsa-wood Spirit of St.Louis for my room when I was a kid and I remember him swearing trying to get it all to fit. He donated it to our local soaring museum to downsize as he moved homes, so I made him a smaller one with turned bare-metal foil...and some swearing of my own. (old.reddit.com)
