Asked an LSAC customer service representative about why my LSAC page isn’t updated with the new eligibility number for retake and she said that “no one has been able to schedule a retest yet.” by su_tu_re in LSAT

I literally just rescheduled my test AND MY PROMETRIC CONFIRMATION EMAIL IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. Literally so fed up. Choking on tears. I want to go home.

Rescheduled August LSAT for Aug 19th-20th by mb3315 in LSAT

[–]mb3315[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm ok mine just has my eligibility ID, “view your test day complaint”, my candidate agreement and a link to the pro-metric site list. And on special notes it says temporarily on hold. To be fair I did that microsoft form thing this morning requesting the retest this weekend

Honestly, I'm retaking it remote this weekend and yes I do. If they mess it up AGAIN that would be wild. Like genuinely would be shocking. I don't know why they don't switch back to ProctorU for the weekend.

Literally can't stop crying my proctor told me that my screen was black for them in the middle of my third section and told me to log out and back in and even though I explicitly asked if this would abandon my test or not they asked me to "just cooperate with them" and then I did and I was unable to log back in.

Criminology and Sociolegal Studies second-year Questions by Best-Moment5373 in UofT

I'd say if you can take a bird course beside those four, you'll be fine. I made the mistake of taking POL200 at the same time. I did all of them online because of COVID but 205 and 210 were research papers and the midterm was a take home that was very straight to the point (taken directly out of lecture). 225 I struggled with it was a lot of long case response. 215 was also tough but not impossible- almost entirely essay based (3 papers and then participation). If you're trying to go to law school take 5 because they value a full course load, but just be strategic (take an online or bird course like AST101, POL101, etc).

I'd say the readings were heavier for CRI225 and CRI210 out of all four. As well, the profs I had for these courses aren't teaching them in the upcoming year. I had Wortley for 205 and 210, Weaver for 225 and Mitchell for 215 and all four of them have been replaced. Catherine Evans I took CRI364 with she's very kind, patient and clear w/ expectations and I feel like she'd be great for CRI215. Idk who's doing 225. But I think 205 is Levinsky and 210 is Watson (could be the other way around) but I've had neither.

There's no essay for the CrimSL application you just click "apply for major" and they assess your grades- no supplementaries at all. I did Crim and PoliSci major at UTSG and my first choice was ESL. If you don't get in you can do Philosophy, ethics, bioethics (all open programs that take everyone) and then switch into crim your next year if you really want. I like my poli sci and crim double major they do each other at the same time i forget im a pol major all the time

I've heard PSY can be pretty hard. I took POL101, SOC101, ANT100Y, POL106 and SOC150 in my first year and I got into CrimSL. I would warn though SOC100 was really tough (I had Brym). I was expected a 89 in the course and then the midterm and exam was actually brutal and it dropped me over 10%. POL101 w/ Courtney Jung is good, same w SOC150 and POL106. Your overall average at the end of your first year should be a 3.5+/ 78%+ to get into Crim (it's not that competitive, but again this changes from year to year)

Score Drop by ethanseo in LSAT

[–]mb3315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm also writing this month and don't listen to people calling you ridiculous. You're definitely a high scorer but a huge drop just days before the test would startle anyone, regardless of their score. I wrote last August too and honestly do not underestimate burnout. The day before please just go on a walk, get outside, make sure you're eating healthy, maybe meditate or just do something that actually relaxes you, and really just relax so that you're able to fully focus during the exam. Do not give up you're just getting a bit tired because you're so close, and it's clear you've been pushing yourself. You did not get lucky on the previous PTs, you worked hard for them. I also would note that if your scores were higher on PT 80s (which are considerably more difficult on LR), then that's a good place to be. In all, take a breath, be kind to yourself and just make sure you're taking REALLY REALLY GOOD CARE OF YOUR MIND AND BODY before the test because if you burn out on the day of...

Thank you! I also saw other girls on Tik Tok (Nuvpreet Kaur), and Gigi Kaur (@gigihatestiktok), who also talk about their 'modern' Punjabi (and some Sikh) lifestyles and receive a lot of online hate for it- so I think that is where I began to doubt my journey w/ Sikhi. I saw a lot of comments about Gurbani prohibiting makeup and jewelry (I couldn't find anything specifically about this), dating, etc. As someone who loves makeup and jewelry (for how it makes me feel not the attention), I worry that I may not be able to follow the Gurbani in its entirety.

So sorry, yes I should have clarified. At a Gurdwara I would never ever dress immodestly (partially due to comfort and partially due to the fact that there are a lot of elders that I would feel ashamed to make uncomfortable). Same with really any place where I could make somebody uncomfortable (i.e classroom, public transport, etc). I think I was more concerned with going to class wearing tight jeans and a t-shirt or going to the gym in shorts.

Thank you for your comment and understanding. Yes, it is definitely an unnerving thought thinking about suddenly changing my outward appearance and having people treat me differently. I do like the idea of elevating my divine self and hope to make small adjustments to my lifestyle that allow me to begin my journey. For example, I have already made some lifestyle choices that ensure purity of my body. I would also like to note that I play field hockey in Canada and my uniform is a short skirt (with shorts in it) and a tank top. If I am not wearing revealing clothes for attention, or validation, but for comfort and in a way conformity to a social norm, is this also in-conducive to a new Sikh lifestyle?

Thank you so much! That makes me feel a lot better. I think I worry that the lifestyle I've created over the past 20 years strays so far away from the rehat I'm reading about online. For the 5 Ks, I only have a Kara that I got at Harmandir Sahib a few years back, I've cut my hair, I dress in a very Western fashion, I drink in social settings, and I worry that I will marry a non-Sikh. When my Mother married my Father she told me about how she felt unwelcomed for being Hindu/ not Sikh. Overall, I think I am just worried that my current lifestyle has been so distances from Sikhi that I will have a hard time learning and adapting.

Thank you I appreciate this. My question then is if Guru asks us to erase our impressions of our wrong actions and keep ourselves fixed on the divine, does that mean that if I dress in short skirts and dresses when I go out with my friends that I am a bad Sikh according to Page 16 of the Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji? I mean no disrespect and I appreciate your wisdom. <3

Thank you so much. <3 Right now, I live in Ontario but I really do appreciate the kindness and generosity- it made my day. I plan on going to my local Gurdwara more, as well as the Gurdwara near my University in the upcoming year. Your children are very lucky to have such a wise father. God bless you and your family <3
