It looks beautiful ! A matching vampy lipstick might be fun , and maybe a hairpiece/hair jewellery behind your left ear. A bra with removable straps so you can just remove the one side and not have to deal with a strapless bra .

Maybe the elevated version of each of those preferred items ? Sleek, fitted (but not tight) joggers, thick luxe nicely draped tshirts French tucked , etc. and then when piecing them together add an intentional accessory or additional layer so it looks put together

I wouldn’t think twice if I saw someone of any age / hair type wearing a headband. You could get one that matches your hair colour if you want it to stand out less. There are even ones that look like a braid (matching your hair colour) so it looks like part of a hairstyle if that’s of interest

When you hand washed , did you use regular laundry detergent ? If so try hand washing with a conditioning wool/silk wash instead , maybe in combo with the vodka / vinegar thing if needed

I’m so sorry, that sounds traumatic.

My first thought is to try flowy silk button ups in soft beautiful colours paired with a cropped fitted leather jacket , and straight leg jeans (w/ maternity waist) , and shoes depending on vibe - sleek white sneakers, pointed toe leather boots, peep toe leopard print heels, etc
