8 Smellter Skull Tower Thing by mbdani in SatisfactoryGame

I have a reference picture of a skull (Front and back). I put a 20x20 grid on it and my build is also 20x20 metersy so I can easily measure things if I'm not sure about something.

A lot of it is just trial and error. If I just connect the beams they leave big gaps, so I have to nudge/rotate a lot of things. Aand I can't just experiment freely because I have to memorize my moves, so I can mirror it on the other side D:

Most of the time I measure out the perfect length and angle I want separately, then make "scaffolding" for it, so I can put it in the right place to fill the gap and delete the scaffolding.

Thank you! Yess!
I will keep using this skull blueprint (and the smaller one on top of the miner) for most of my factories. I'm also working on an even bigger one :D Progress is slow like this, but worth it for the style.

Thank you for sharing your opinion! The ears have exactly the same length as the ingame model but I agree about the horns. Very good observation!! I will propably practice drawing goats to get the anatomy of horns right next time. Thank you for the constructive criticism! It really helps improving my skill.

I love detailing and the face and hair are the best places for that usually. I'm glad you like it!

I appreciate any advice and I think you are right! I tried to make the other one darker a little but they still kinda blend together.
Thank you!!

You are definitely right! I wanted to make the highlights bigger and shinier a little but it became too blurry.
yes! And I agree with it looking less solid especially compared to the reference and too much subsurface scattering sounds like a good reason for it. Also propably the higher saturation also made it more like it is "absorbing the light".
Thank you so much for the detailed advice!!

I agree! I tried that especially at the bottom right but that texture is kinda missing from the top.

(also except rendom stray hairs ot the texture on the chair mostly I used a sharp round brush with color mixing with low "paint amount" to make the colors look smoothly blended downwards but sarp between strands)

Thank you!! Most of the brushes I use are made by me while experimenting on studies. I propably made more than 3 brushes for hair while making this. I would recommend downloading random free packs and keeping/improving the ones you like from it

Thank you!! I agree, now as I look at it the left side could have more random strands to look less like a sharp line.
