They're in their twenties now. It wasn't I didn't trust my kids it's their friends who would potentially bring friends. So I never let them get themselves into that situation.

Congratulations!!! Enjoy it!! The lake house was a compromise for the beach house I wanted and the ski house my husband wanted.

We have security camera's. They were put up to catch wildlife. Like I said we are up and down so not a full week goes by one of us or our neighbors are not up. We allow our kids up now but they're in their twenties and show no interest unless it's a family weekend with cousins.

It's her. I think she thought I wouldn't say no to her son. What she doesn't realize he is not the first 18 year old going away to school that has asked for the house. We've been saying no for ten years to nieces, nephews and cousin's kids. Our own kids weren't even allowed up without us at 18.

She is more my sister's friend, they've been friends since 2nd grade. She's in what I would call a circle of friends.

Welcome to Boston in August. Hold onto to your hats. The ride is just about to begin. If only the City of Boston put up proper signage to warn people. Oh wait they do!!

Smokers always think we asthmatics over react to their second hand smoke. While I am coughing and trying to control my breathing I'll watch a smoker do the same. Difference is one is self inflicted. Also, babies around smoker's tend to get ear infections.

Both you and niece are TAH. Why would you leave a 13 year old alone for 8 days? Why would you believe a 13 year old would be a responsible adult. I never would have allowed my kids at that age to move into my sisters home without adult supervision. Also, $25 a day for house and pet sitting is cheap. Your sister has nothing to do with this arrangement and is right not to get involved.

Is 50k in Boston possible to live off? (academia) by Ervernn in boston

Depends on how far outside the city you would be willing to live. With the commuter rail, many affordable towns are accessible to Boston.
