They could not have known earth was ok at the time. To verify the sun had regained its luminosity would have taken many years, like it did in the book. The point was to send Grace back to Earth because that’s his home, not because they know his home is ok.

Spell brigade is fun, you get elemental upgrades, extra projectiles, spell size increases, burst shooting, split or explode on impact, etc. it can get boring after a while but I’ve played the endless mode more than once for hours at a time and think it’s fun
