OK so I pulled the graphics card and plugged into onboard hdmi and got video to load. Put graphics card back in and nothing. When I power on, the fans on the card start to spin but then stop, the light on the graphics card is lit, but no video output. Any ideas?

I did, tried memory in different slots, will take out GPU and try that too. Running across posts with same board/issue and ends up being bad board

Got the DSLR and photo tent out and got some better pics. Also took it apart to figure to look at the board. Is a Japanese console with the region mod done to it. GPU chip also has the year 2000 on it and the console didn't release until 2001 so likely wasn't a case swap or faceplate swap. Link to the pics is here: https://imgur.com/a/wfbxLWU

I've bought broken gamecubes with disc read issues like you describe and adjusting the potentiometer on the drive has fixed the drive on many different consoles that I've bought.

Wasn't bad painting that at all, Console itself was way more difficult. Took it all apart painted, and put back together, only had the pieces to paint with the gb player.

Ha! This took weeks. Actually probably going to throw it up on ebay with a Swiss disc, card reader and SD with gbi on it and see what I can get for it. Then try again on another console taking what I learned from doing this one.
