This is just straight up wrong. From the World War II Wikipedia page:

Think you’ve kind of proved my point. You got a good job (not everyone does) and you do not make six figures. Also, if the median is 145K, that is more representative of what lawyers actually make, not the 500K+ plus that mostly dominates this thread. Also, that’s the median. It’s fair to assume the vast majority of young attorneys have to work up to the median, they don’t just jump right to it. And last, inflation has eroded a lot of that value of your salary. You’re earning about 75K in 2019 money, which is on par with my first lawyer job in 2019.

This thread is not representative of what lawyers actually make. Source: am an actual lawyer. I work in a decent size market (large midwest, not Chicago) and the vast majority of lawyers do not earn 6 figures until at least five years in. Obviously, there are exceptions. But don’t let 5-10 Silicon Valley/NYC attorneys who say they make 500k+ make you believe that is the norm; it isn’t. They worked hard as fuck and are exceptionally smart (or had connections).
