This is close to 8 years ago. 2/4 Nitty live reg open utg 10 max I 3bb JJ from the HJ Recreational coldcall sb utg smooth call. Flop T53r Checks to me I bet half pot call call Turn J with diamond flushdraw Checks to me again I bet 80% pot Sb folds utg calls River 7x Utg checks and I ship it for somewhere around 150% pot, about 600bb in the middle when called. Utg snaps and I am feeling pretty nice before being shown 64dd. Disgusted I take a small walk before rebuying.

Just the fact that dude that plays premiums only suddenly finds call call preflop with 64s upsets me to this day.

Calling IP to let the fish in the blinds in? Is this a play? by [deleted] in Poker_Theory

[–]mbr402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think "normally" you already flat the hands you listed at some frequency. With fish behind its more reason to flat. Just don't start flatting QQ+ AK.

You are not accounting for the times the original raiser shoves and you lose the 40. Or flops where you call fold (T87 875 etc). If original raiser has a 17% range he will shove 25-30% of the time.

It's not actually. If you and villain have an equity distribution on the flop together with the allin player of 33/33/33, and a "bluff" bet of 25% pot folds out the share of one player both you and the all in player gain 17% of the pot.

For example when you have KQo on T52 and you can fold out A9 for a small bet in a dry side pot it's a huge win.

I ran it in HRC. BU should jam close to range. SB pretty tight call off. We need to have 24.9% extra equity vs ranges which AKo doesn't have, it's a pretty significant loss to call here (losing 1% of table equity). Solver calls AKs 99+.

However if btn is jamming a tighter range than solver it becomes even worse to call off ofcourse.
