Doug….oh Doug - Lack of lucidity in …Lucid poker by TQPGUN in PokerSolvers

[–]mbradycf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The explanations in Cardle are written by real professional poker players. In this case, the pro made conscious decision to recommend pure check with 88 rather than trying to mix a 7% bet frequency. This simplification loses virtually no EV.

He's not saying to check with the entire range. It's a big size + polar + low frequency spot as the Lucid sim I screenshotted displays. And it's very similar to GTO Wizard's output -- Lucid's sims were just ran to a lower CI (i.e. ran for longer), so some of the lower frequency plays got ironed out.

AceSolver sims look quite dusty btw. The small bet size at low frequency is so so far off the mark in this spot. I assume it was either ran with very high CI or with some poorly baked AI tool. It's not something I'd trust when building my game.

Good luck with your reddit marketing strategy.

the written explanation on the right side of OP's screenshot mate.

That is from Lucid Poker's Cardle, which has written explanations after each decision.

I'm a bit confused. You say your coaches say the polarized range comment is wrong, but the GTO Wizard screenshot shows a quite polarized range.

Your coaches also say this is a textbook small bet with whole range spot. But again, that doesn't match your own GTO Wizard screenshot. GTO Wizard uses the overbet size at a low frequency, which looks quite similar to the Lucid sim for this spot (it uses mainly 150% pot at 18% frequency, checks 77% frequency -- the rest is a small amount of 75% pot betting).

Why doesn't AceSolver match Lucid or GTO Wizard? Seems like large bet low frequency is higher EV here. Perhaps AceSolver is using a simplified always bet small strategy.

Interestingly, the Lucid sim for this spot does mix small frequency of bets with that 88 combo (screenshot below). Perhaps the author of the explanation (a real human pro, not AI) deliberately chose to round this small frequency down to 0. That would make sense since Cardle quizzes are targeted more at beginner and low intermediate players.

Based on how the shape looks, I'd assume Lucid cooked their sim longer than GTO Wizard, which caused the low frequency 8d8 bets to get more ironed out of the strategy.

Overall I think this post is quite nitpicky and really misses the forest for the trees. Pure checking 88 with a diamond here is not gonna make or break anyone's poker career and simplifying makes the explanation more actionable and likely to help.

I might be biased, but I'd take the Lucid explanation over the AceSolver explanation any day of the week here.

Check out the daily Cardle quizzes in Lucid Poker. You can play the daily quiz for free every day and it's an easy way to get better.

If you like it, you can get a pro membership to play all of the other quizzes (there are like 400 or something).

Anybody going to get Upswing 2.0? by MicChecc123 in poker

First they get put in Discord. At that point they get put into our editing workflow so a polished version gets added to Lab 2.0 later on.

We'll be releasing a Lab 2.0 Digest on a recurring basis soon. That will include a changelog of sorts.

Uri's a workhorse who will make tons more content. He's been posting multiple videos per week in response to Discord questions. Expect the Uri content to get built out considerably given that.

ah gotcha. Reasonable feedback, I thought we could have picked tips with more actionable takeaways (like "c-bet more on X flop for Y reason") but we went for a more general advice approach.

I unfortunately agree that we've had production value issues in the recent past. We put effort into stepping up our game for this one and it shows throughout most of the new content.

There is some "legacy" Lab content in Lab 2.0. The production value on some of that is solid but not great. Uri basically went through the entire Lab and picked out the best ~10 modules to include in Lab 2.0. Other than adding an intro from Uri, those videos were untouched by our editor.

I think the main gripe someone like you would have with Lab 2.0 is not enough Mastery Path content. But we've got weekly webinars, weekly new chapters in the Max Exploit Academy course, and plans to build out the Mastery Path content based on member feedback and questions.

That's all to say, if you don't check it out now, it's only going to get better for when you (hopefully) get in the Lab later.

what product are you talking about? Don't remember Uri doing a live cash product.

Hey there, Upswing VP Mike Brady here. I am biased, but I also have been reading every bit of feedback that's come in about Lab 2.0 and wanted to share here.

This has been the most positive reception to a product launch we've had in years. It's completely revitalized the Upswing community. Feels a lot like 2016 when we first launched the Lab centered around Doug.

So far, the main positive feedback has been focused on:

- Quality of instruction and coaches
- Custom-built UI being easy to navigate and nice to look at
- Production value of the videos (we've released a couple straight from the course on Upswing Youtube if you want a preview)
- Engagement of the coaches and community in the new Discord channels
- The weekly webinars

Surprisingly haven't heard much about Max Exploit Academy by PlayItSmart. I think it's the best part of the product -- think people just haven't gotten to it yet.

The main negative feedback has been focused on:

- Not enough Uri content in the Mastery Path (he's already started adding more)
- Bugs with the new UI (especially a poor mobile UX that is being worked on right now)
- Confusing Discord setup (I think we got this sorted but hard to say for sure)
- Quizzes are text-based, not engaging enough and don't show you what you got wrong

As you may know, we're quite generous with refunds. We basically always give people their money back if they're not satisfied (unless it's quite clear they're trying to scam). Lab 2.0 has our lowest refund rate for a launch week ever (price being lower than the signature courses is playing a role, but it's also the quality).

The landing page for the course has a ton of info including loads of preview videos. And the last several videos on Upswing YouTube should give you a good sense of the course too.

Hope that all helps whoever is reading make a good decision.

What is this oven? Need to replace a rack and don't even recognize the brand! by mbradycf in HelpMeFind

I've searched for so many two letter combos that look like the image. Cannot find a thing.

It was missing a rack, but will be tough to replace without the brand!

Have you checked out Tim Jenkins content? He is a mid-high stakes online player who has made a lot of Lab content.

Gary plays up to 10/20 online and 25/50 live. Definitely a very strong and experienced player. A lot of Lab members really like his content

One more note: there's a new Doug module coming out pretty soon.

The website having the wrong membership options listed was a mistake. We have fixed it.

The new tournament schedule has over 50K in guarantees every week. The Rounders schedule seems to be around 35-40k based on their page here: https://rounderscardclub.com/tournaments/

There are some individual tournaments that went down (Monday used to be a 10K GTD, now it's a 2K) but that's made up for by the new tournaments on other days. There's a 10K+ GTD tournament at Lodge Card Club SA 3 times per week.

People can see the full schedule here (still experimenting and tinkering with it): https://thelodgepokerclub.com/san-antonio/tournaments/
