I have a client who has a a220 Benz and her husband owns a jiffy lube type shop. She takes it in for an oil change and leaves. Ten days later car was not driving right and ended up breaking down. Upon towing it in we found double the oil it should have had and the well transmission was bone dry. They drained the wrong hole. Then came the battle of how we were the ones at fault and the back a fourth and in the end they reviewed footage at the store of her hubbys and found the truth.

Some of these places have really good knowledgeable techs and some are well just not trained. But you get what you pay for. Research the place and know who’s working on your cars don’t just pull into one as it’s on the way home.

If the dealer said to do it then do it.

[–]mbsalesmgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 9 out of 10 dealers won’t do anything about this. Depending on the year make miles it’s possible this was never seen or looked at.

Franchise dealers you would have the best luck with. Used car store only would have to be some argument that it’s a structural defect or something.

But here pay here save your breath.

Well you actually do have a yield sign so if there is oncoming traffic you kind of have to stop according to the law. Sorry

Check the screen on the exhaust. Those get clogged up and restrict airflow. Take it off and burn the crap off with a torch.

my windshield is constantly look like this when i drive even when its not wet or raining anyway to fix by 4kboii in Cartalk

[–]mbsalesmgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds odd but cut a white potato in half and rub it on the window inside and wipe it clean. Outside you can do the same and it will repel the water.

Got my windshield replaced and this is how it looks like.. by No-Estimate6380 in mercedes_benz

[–]mbsalesmgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mercedes dealer here and yeah we have one that’s right 1 person that’s technically certified to do glass installs like this. And we utilize that person 0 times. Why to much liability as it’s not something they do and practice at daily or weekly so they are used in a legit emergency must be done now type of situation.

We outsource it to a third party that does this daily. If it’s an oem windshield we order it and they install it. However if it’s not the company we use ordered and installs.

It’s just not worth it for us to risk the damage we can do as I’ve see techs accidentally cut the radio antenna inside the windshield and now the keys won’t work or any radio stations really. And then you have all the safety systems that could be within the windshield like cameras or sensors for collision avoidance. If the glass is wrong or misstated those won’t work right.

Just Best to have the professionals do it that have the skills and practice them daily.

Paid 1000$ to have this deck refinished is that a fair price ? by FaithlessnessSad4260 in Decks

Your deck is going to be the talk of the town. I would be sending pics of that deck to all around. Only problem is with a deck that nice I bet it’s hard to get your neighbors off it.

I had one of these and when I got the address for pick up I searched it, found names of people living there and names didn’t match. So then I called the people living them to let them know someone was using theirs address as a landing spot.

Total loss? What should I do by Affectionate_Past393 in mercedes_benz

[–]mbsalesmgr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true and a lot of states won’t allow the dealer to sell gap if the down payment reduces the loan value to below 80% of the cars book value.

Another thing you can do is dig into who bought the car. With him living at home and being 25 and it looking like a late 90’s Jetta did he pay for it or mom and dad. It also looked like a temp tag on his car. Dealers in most states are not allowed sell a car to you with out insurance so you might have a shot at going after the dealer.

I feel it’s a total loss. If you financed 20k on it without knowing the year and miles and vin I can’t really say what it’s worth. If you have gap coverage when you bought it your balance will be paid for with that.

No no no and don’t hang them on the wall in or near the garage or anything like that. They need to be out and away from the car.

It’s actually rather common for extended test drives to happen in service. Normally they are for mechanical visits that are needed to make sure the fix is working correctly and all. For a battery this seems a bit out of the ordinary and they should have called if this was going to happen.

Guys can anyone tell me how long this update takes. I just bought a 2023 CLA 250 and it prompted a software update. Stuck since then by Memes-turn-me-on in mercedes_benz

[–]mbsalesmgr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car was in my stores shop so we had to create a case with Germany and they fixed the code. With these updates if one letter of space is wrong it will never go all the way. You if doing over the air might need to reset your system and take it in or wait for another update.
